Admire her business sense, not really a fan of her music, but either way a stupendous accomplishment that few artists can match. For that alone she deserves a spot in the history books. But yes, I'm hoping I see less Taylor Swift in the headlines, too much of a thing.

The nearly 2-year tour featured 149 sold-out shows across five continents. It became the highest-grossing tour of all time, projected to surpass $1BILLION. The tour was also credited with boosting local economies through increased tourism, job creations, and donations to food banks by Swift herself.

What does relevant mean in this context? Musicians tend to be relevant to their audience, but I'm not sure how that applies to the rest of us. We are many who enjoys listening to Nirvana but I'm not sure that makes Kurt Cobain relevant.

I'm not a Swift fan, but I swear the hate on her is so forced. Feels like they hate her just because she is a successful and popular woman

Taylor could had done her concerts Covid safe with HEPA filters for fans. She could have prevented her concerts from being super spreader Covid events. She could have set a world standard for Clean Air for Covid prevention. She could have sold Swifties respirators in ERAs colours to fans.

I still don’t understand the attraction to her if I’m honest. In the past we’ve had far bigger stars that have been better and yet this one… is it just because she’s the only one available? We need a pop girl, yep, she’ll do?

No. It’s her songwriting. People connect to her stories and relate to them. She’s built up a strong brand by also including Easter eggs into her songs so the more you learn about each song, the more you can learn about all the songs. It’s a different approach to pop stardom.

The incredible positivity displayed on this tour by Taylor and her fans was incredible. I took my kids to it and saw it first hand. Love or hate her music, her message of female empowerment and positivity is undeniable. I stood in the parking lot and watched hundreds of kids singing along, joyfully.

Grossing the equivalent of several African nations’ collective GDP. One person. One voice. Literally all the money thrown at her. The billionaire the left refuses to shit on for being rich lol.

You’re insinuating that her music is childish, juvenile and immature. Yes, her early albums are less nuanced than her later work. Bit one doesn’t “outgrow” Taylor Swift’s depth. I would suggest that maybe she “outgrew” you…?🤷🏼‍♀️

Fair point, Terry. I guess it's entirely possible that Taylor outgrew me, given she's more than a decade older and evolving on a different path. Nothing but respect for her artistry; I just connect with other artists more these days. Have an awesome day!

I would never pay to see her. I truly do like some of her work. But I am here to give kudos, not hate. I appreciate the fact that she plays an instrument and writes and produces her own material unlike the loser that Billboard named the Artist of the Century. Taylor is the total package.
