I think Elon Musk is JUST sentient enough to be dimly aware that he is damned for all time - that his name will be pissed and spat upon for as long as his filthy legacy is remembered - and that delights me. www.independent.co.uk/news/world/a...

I am not the one to ask, but my understanding is that there is a very high bar to suing Senators and Representatives for their statements with even the slightest connection to their legislative duties. In that light, it's hard to see a cause of action here that could survive precedent.

This is absolutely appropriate. My baseline of understanding is Parliamentary privilege which, if I remember right, only applies to what's said on the floor of Parliament. This seems a broader protection.

I would argue that Khanna is talking about Musk-as-DOGE (Executive branch) disabling USAID (legislatively mandated foreign aid). As such, Khanna's speech falls squarely into the domain of Congress's oversight of the Executive branch. There is no 'private' element here. Just checks & balances.

He also sits on the house "Committee on Oversight and Government Reform", so DOGE would fit squarely in his committee assignment, not just the more general purview of oversight of the executive branch.
