My gosh, the same type of data we pay the private sector for to target the baddies is also being sold by the private sector to the baddies to target us? Who would have ever thought the private sector would play both sides to maximize profit? I can’t believe they would do such a thing.

This sad excuse for a war that should never have happened is so scary for our service people. So impulsive as psychopaths will be, so careless with the lives of others, all bather and bluster from dump. I hate this - the most important should be our military not a gold ballroom!

Another way of looking - a good system shouldn’t create risks to its targeted users. In safety arenas, when a service provider blames users for failures, it’s to deflect from their responsibility for the system’s design. It’s actually pretty easy to predict how humans will act within any system.

When you can identify an individual with 3 pseudonymous datapoints and data brokers ready and willing to sell that to any entity, bad actors will behave badly
