Over the past two decades, pensioner incomes have grown by 20 per cent, while those of working-age families have grown by just 7 per cent. Given these trends, surely it is time to include the Triple Lock in debates around stemming the growth in welfare spending? ➡️ buff.ly/FY93tV6

If you were to identify the problem here as not that pensioner income has grown by too much but that working family income has grown by too little, the debate would be about something completely different than Triple Lock.

Disagree. The gap has occurred much more because wages have been repressed. Many more people in minimum wage jobs, fire and hire and the massive growth of zero-hours contracts have played a huge role. The triple lock adds a couple of quid a week to someone’s state pension. No more than that.

No. What should happen is that working age families should have a tripple lock as well so that wages increase by the same percentage. Fuck me you people are cunts of the lowest order. Its never "how can we improve things" its always "how much can we shit on a group". Cunts.
