bitwig is one of the major DAWs in my book, and it has a linux version. even more so, you can run it on any OS with a JVM, even openbsd because it's written in java

Linux gets used a lot in live sound, for example several high end audio consoles run on Linux. But: heavily customised. You can't just log in and install your favourite apps. There's a way to go before you can run a live gig off mainstream Linux and be sure you won't hear underruns etc.
