"a fun and telling thing to track will be whether twitch streamer hasan piker or sitting united states congressman max miller receives more mainstream news media coverage between now and the election Miller is accused of committing serious violent crimes! And yet, bsky.app/profile/mtsw...

"Not a fan of Hasan Piker but he's a guy who streams monologues to a small audience. Elon spends hundreds of millions of dollars trying to get Republicans elected and was for weeks the second most powerful member of the federal government, but oddly Republicans are rarely grilled about his views"

The media of this country has conflated obscene wealth with infallibility. Gates's Epstein involvement is forgotten, Bezos's killing of the WaPo and mistreatment of his workers is waved away, and Elon Musk is a literal fucking Nazi. We need more reporters like Pablo Torre on the case.

How about AIPAC Shakur taking a meeting with Jared Kushner? That media cycle lasted about 6 hours before we were back to the Hasan Piker scheduled programming.

Many people are saying this!

I’m sure the American media is gonna start asking Republicans if they’re gonna disavow him, ala their dumb freakout about a streamer, any day now.

Also like the Republicans are funded by the world‘s richest man more than any other donor. Who do they very obviously work for? It should be hung around their necks that they are a tool of the world‘s richest people who still want to take even more for themselves. Romney on steroids.

Have started to email news organizations and suggesting to them that they ask Republicans if they will disavow Musk, and why. We can all do this! Just takes a few minutes online to find the relevant email addresses or contact forms.

Future historians will be staggered at the degree to which two Apartheid era South Africans gained SO MUCH political influence in the US ... just through pouring money into the pockets of the right

The somehow is 'capital owns the press, not us' and the press carries water for capital, not us. I always thought this class war shit was tinfoil hattery but no, it's real. Every news article, ask "who is this for?" Not so much 'who is the intended audience', but more 'who is the beneficiary'.
