This is why I use a lot of discworld philosophy to reorient clients in therapy sessions. What happened happened. "What are you going to do about it" is really the only question that matters until "am I proud of how I responded?" is available to answer.

This reminds me of a line from one of my high school French teachers: “It isn’t avoir, it isn’t être, and it certainly isn’t faire.”

I learned this teally young during a game of tag football. I managed to tap the receiver on the back but he put on a burst of speed and crossed the goal line, anyway. Nobody believed I tagged him, not even my own team. His grin was infuriating. Next time I tackled him & got in trouble.

3. Like Witches the HCW’s on The Pitt have an incredibly difficult, often emotionally devastating, and generally under appreciated job that nevertheless absolutely NEEDS doing. Their Heroism lies in doing the job anyway.
