Still a mediocre software engineer, father and husband. I aspire to be a mediocre hockey player.

You will have to work hard to convince me Bryan Johnson is not a comedy character someone invented, and just got carried away playing him for years now.

i have an AI agent that screams nonstop. Just an endless scream.

Another good year. SSX Tricky Red Faction Silent Hill 2 Gran Turismo 3 GTA3 Strong showing with Metal Gear Solid 2, Max Payne being close. Twisted Metal Black was also a lot of fun in multiplayer IIRC

a weird set of people who only exist online are people who celebrate the defeat of global fascism in every other country and are then horrified and appalled at the idea that they should also be expected to vote for their domestic opponent of global fascism if some of their stances are Problematic

A weird change that has taken place in my lifetime is that in the past, British racists were aware of what mixed-race people were and were furious about it, as opposed to the New Racism, which frequently seems actively confused by the birds and the bees.

I remember many yrs ago one of my regular customers asked another of my regular customers "I seen you in Shields th other day with a couple of [racial slur] teenagers, what was that about that?" And the other guy replied "Do you mean my fucking grandchildren?" Never seen a man visibly shrink so fast

Yesterday we had a party for my parents who have been married for 60 years. Very classic, old-fashioned buffet party, which is what they like. But a lovely time was had with family and friends. 60 years is incredible, we got them a letter from the King as part of the presents which they liked.

Silent Hill! Aliens Versus Predator Homeworld Urban Chaos Freespace 2 This feels like a really good year. Or I have played far more of the games from this year as I was at Uni and used to rent games out from the local video shop, lol.

Frankly there is quite a lot since the fag end of the 70s. Gay rights are on a different stratosphere to what they were back then Wedding equality is here. Prominent gay figures exist. Society is not perfect, and homophobia still exists, but major TV presenters are gay, Cabinet ministers are too.

Social media loves talking about how everything is getting worse. But what’s something that you’ve seen get _better_ in your lifetime?

I'm old enough to remember when Piers Morgan did a column looking for the "P##fs of Pop". Justin Fashanu got virulent abuse from the football stands. Section 28 was in schools The AIDS panic intensified a lot of the abuse too

Obviously the correct way to understand whatever Trump is blithering about now is by imagining an averagely talented comedian who is winging it with a mic and a live crowd and hasn't really prepped a set.

We are gonna hear a lot about Theranos & Holmes. ⚠️ Documentaries are a powerful art form that can also mislead. I haven't seen this doc yet, but...👇 Key: I was a Theranos whistleblower. In ‘You Can See Everything,’ Elizabeth Holmes is still lying www.statnews.com/2026/10/19/e...

statnews.comI was a Theranos whistleblower. In ‘You Can See Everything,’ Elizabeth Holmes is still lyingA more accurate name would be “You Can See Everything That We Chose To Point The Camera At,”Theranos whistleblower Tyler Shultz writes.

I'm not sure why this should be a big deal for people. I'm aware I was accidental, being much younger than my 2 brothers. But I grew up loved and cared for, so it really made no difference in reality. Unless there's something else going on, I struggle to see the issue.

When I was in my teens, my mother informed me that my youngest brother was an accident. I have no idea why she chose to tell me this and I really hate knowing it.

Have recently reread LOTR, but this feed gives a good sense of the time passing. Strider managed to keep completely inexperienced hobbits safe in the wilderness for 2 weeks whilst mostly evading the Nazgul. Reading that is 1 thing, but seeing the events pop up time based is fascinating.

The Shire-Reckoning@shire-reckoning.bsky.social

Leaving the hobbits concealed, Strider steps out on to the Last Bridge. There are no Nazgûl. He finds the beryl stone that Glorfindel left two days ago. Strider leads the hobbits across the bridge, then off the Road into the stony hills to its north.

He's a baseball guy, too. I'm not sure the skills are transferable enough for him to just drop in.

Given His Holiness is about to undergo lung surgery, this is probably a smart call.

What can you say? This was the definite winner they will never top. Also one of the best things I've seen at any PRGE #PRGE #PRGE2026

The US has become a gerontocracy Not just in the presidency where the last 3 presedential terms have been served by literal pensionable age people, but through the senate and congress too. If you compare this to e.g. the UK parliament, the disparity is huge

Yea simply no way for this to go wrong at all

Firmly of the opinion that once a film goes over 2.5 hours or so, they need to think of editting better or release it in another format entirely (e.g. mini series or multiple films)

I just about survived the Odyssey, and didn't feel great for a day or two after (2.5 hours is not a hard and fast limit I just despair a little when I see so many films above 3h 15).

When Zelenskyy calls Trump weak it isn’t just rhetoric. Trump showed the world how weak he was when he bribed with cash to vote GOP. Putin saw that vulnerability and offered him a crappy deal on diesel as a lifeline. Trump is weak and the West’s biggest enemies can see it.

Im a single issue voter. The issue in question is the September 1991 issue of "Your Sinclair" magazine. I get all my political opinions from that.

Lol. But why did he run at all? Apart from a puerile need to see his name in the paper again, what did he think this would lead to?

Obviously not helped by the fact he is in self imposed exile. But Holborn was George Galloway’s worst ever result in a Westminster election.
