"FIRST"!!!!!!!!!!!! If it said last it would be more believable; but FIRST!!! So everywhere else it's just a slap on the wrist at worse. Terrible. Should be an automatic dismissal. Period.

Part of the problem is you have to prove it was a lie and not an honest mistake or misspeaking. Those things happen. But the approach should be to have them confronted with the facts and if they won't recant their fallacious statement(s) publicly then they are fired.

And obviously if you evidence they willfully lied on full knowledge of the facts then no opportunity for recanting for them.

I had somewhere more radical to jam them... But okay you can start with a microscope.
