My rule of thumb is to never own a pet that could kill me. Or another person. Still leaves a lot of great options.

Pitbulls represent roughly 2/3 of dog-related fatalities and just over half of hospitalizations. It should come as NO surprise to anyone that a dog bred to fight and kill other dogs is also dangerous for humans.
