I've often thought/said that AI convinces people that they're incapable of doing stuff they everyone just did a few years ago: read articles, write papers, answer email, etc.

My daughter was in my office one time when she was about 10 and wrote on a post-it, “I love [my full name] very VERY much! ❤️” and stuck it on my monitor. I’ve had several monitors since then, but that post-it (now taped) gets moved to each new one. (She’s 29 now)

A mom at my kids' school told me she used AI for the yearbook message to her kid, and I was floored. Also, it took me way less time to write a brief, loving note to my kid than to prompt a sad simulacra.

My most controversial take that upsets a lot of people is that a lot of people simply shouldn't be parents.
