any of the countless other crimes he’s committed. they got Capone for tax evasion. the government quits handling this monster with kid gloves, an investigation of “DOGE” or any one of his companies will turn something up in no time.

If you know that your actions are going to result in the deaths of hundreds of thousands of people, maybe millions, then you've committed a crime against humanity. On those grounds.

If that were the case, pretty much every rich country would be guilty of it and so would most middle-income countries, let alone rich countries’ citizens. If that were the benchmark, but it isn't the real legal doctrine.

I actually have a pretty straightforward policy suggestion that would establish the legal framework to handle Musk and countless other cases.

I propose an international law that once you become personally responsible for the murder of 1,000 people, be it via direct violence or policy, you are declared a dragon and adventurers can form parties to quest against you.

perhaps collectively, as a sovereign nation, but not say, 2 men. no. I refuse to believe that. Musk and Trump should go before the Hague. Stephen Miller while we're at it

Even if you want to be entirely self interested, what do these people think happens to the local population on the radicalization front when you, just as a random example, pull $70M of funding from comprehensive health, education and welfare programs in Afghanistan?

And these are just the most direct costs. My brother worked on USAID funded programs that provided educational resources to refugee and displaced kids. What do you think happens to thousands upon thousands of kids in Afghanistan without access to decent, basic education?

It produces more terrorists, which actively benefits the fascists running our government. 9/11 was the greatest boon they've ever experienced, and if they could make that happen again, they'd do so in a heartbeat.

not just that soft power is good, but other countries with interests that are not aligned with ours are continuing to fund at least some things globally (China, for instance, is funding a pretty massive construction boom in Africa), and now there is no counterweight from the US.

I use Afghanistan in particular, not only because of my brother working there, but because we spent twenty years trying (and failing) to specifically fix the radicalization problem there in the wake of 9/11.

This, and situations like this, is where our justice system fails us. These are not accidental deaths. Perpetrators made decisions knowing they would cause death. They just didn't know or care about how many.

One political appointee insists that Ebola is a scam; while Joel Borkert—USAID’s new acting chief of staff—assumed the agency’s global health work amounted to “just, you know, abortions.”😏

Elon Musk is a white South African who fled the racial power sharing of SA and came to the United States, where he was allowed to seize power that let him kill hundreds of thousands of Black Africans. The media puts him on a pedestal - instead of describing him as racist mass murderer he is.

USAID.. this concept of fighting for the right of life in underprivileged nations is turning to bite us. We used to send food and basic healthcare to the weak. I was proud of that. Starvation and rampant virus plus disease takes over & shows up at our shores. Humanity has left. Results are underway
