Oh no. Oh nooooo. Xbox's new CEO is a natalist/birthrater. How did MS miss this in their opsec? Literal stone's throw away from the likes of Palmer Luckey. "Will my son have classmates in the future? ...the fertility rates are declining." Then she suggests the fix is... AI? Timestamped:

yeah it would not take much to convince me that moving her to xbox is MS's initial move to get out of AI (and also possibly games) without doing anything direct that might cause a panic

Because it’s obvious they just want more workers and consumers. I hate to make this comparison but I imagine a similar logic is why the quality of life for enslaved ppl is the way it has always been and worse

"I want less jobs for people" and "I want more people in the world" are two completely incompatible ideals, how is it such a prevalent combination? (we know the answer but nobody with the power to fix things cares to listen because they benefit from the same dysfunctions)

I can tell you right now, neither generative nor agentic AI is necessary to, as Sharma appears to describe, supercharge the sperm-to-egg matchmaking process. This whole interview is a mess of baseless jargon. I'm officially concerned.

"We need radical new technologies to supercharge the sperm-to-egg matchmaking process." Weird conservatives and accidentally telling on their own terrible sex lives, name a more iconic duo.

If I'm an ethno-supremacist (and I'm not) that sort of technology sounds very exciting though. This is just high tech eugenics. Imagine being able to pick the exact shade of blue in your beautiful Aryan baby's eyes! Wonderful! (sarcasm)

They missed it probably because a bunch of the weird rich dweebs in charge agree with it. Theyd rather prattle on about how their snake oil might "fix birth rates" instead of thinking about how their very existence makes the cost of living too high to even consider having kids

Anyone else think the “death of org charts” just reads as the ‘end of employment’? A flat leadership structure can benefit small co-ops, all working on a single project. It does not work for large companies with hundreds of employees.

Whenever someone begins talking about birth rates you have to immediately ask if they have preference to which groups of people are having babies. That will tell you the most about their actual goals. The eugenic component to natalism cannot be ignored.

Declining birthrates are a problem (barring an AI revolution), increasing birthrates is good. If somone says something sexist or racist then you can hit them on that specifically
