Post

Love your work. More, soon?

Just bought it based on this post and also because my BFF read me the description last night @maestrallt.bsky.social

It's a really good (and very silly) book, and I say that even though I paid full price.

loved loved loved the audio book with Wil Wheaton, enjoyable on repeat listenings <3

This was one of my favorite books from this year. I still Crack up just thinking about the dolphins!

Thanks for letting us know about the sale. I've already got the hardcover so having the ebook was a nice add-on.

Such an enjoyable read! 5🌟

It was on my wishlist, now it's in my TBR pile.

It’s a really fun book, so I’d say it’s earned its spot!

Also buy one, get one 50% off at Barnes & Noble right now.

Relistened to the audiobook with my 16 year old and they loved it too!

I picked it up on kobo the other day, excited to read it!

Great book!

It IS quality text, and if we hadn't already read/enjoyed it (from the library), we'd definitely buy it for $1.99 while we had the chance.

I bought if for the cover (jk)

I'm enjoying the changes they made to Silo for the Show, paced it up some. Good stuff, cleaned up some of the characters, expanded some.

It’s a good book, John.

Bought it as a full-price paperback last week. Excited to get to it.

Bought. Thank you.

Starter Villain was the remedy I needed after losing my dog Murphy this year. It was the first time I remembered laughing regularly since then. One of my favorites in a long while.

Torn between wanting more and respecting it’s uniqueness

Congratulations! I plan on buying this book today.

If I show up to the cookout in your back yard will you sign my hardcover?

I loved Starter Villain!

It's number one in my Libby app. Btw, hope you enjoyed Medina last week!

This was the first book of yours I had ever read and then I promptly started working my way through the rest of them!!! It’s still my favorite….

Should I add the study guide to get through the tough parts?

This was the first of your books that I read and I enjoyed it immensely. So it’s nice to see it’s still going strong.

Thanks for the heads up! My backlog of good books continues to scare the villagers, but I cannot resist this absolute bargain :)

Just finished reading. Enjoyed it immensely. (I bought it at Barnes and Noble, I'm done with Amazon, even though they might be cheaper.)

When is the Netflix series? I want to see the union members

Just bought the ebook entirely due to the quality text and not the fact it's on sale for $1.99.

I have made a purchase.

it's an amazing novel and I'd like to see part Two - also Kaiju Preservation Society II

Silo (Wool) is excellent. There are a few high quality shows on there: - Slow Horses (read the books) - Monarch: Legacy of Monsters (Godzilla) - Severance (avoid spoilers) - For All Mankind (alternate history space race) - Dark Matter (read the book) - Hijack (Idris Elba at his best)

I am sure the Apple * series season 2 is helping.

I thoroughly enjoyed Starter Villain from start to finish. Thank you again for bringing the fun :-)

I laughed my butt off reading this book, even after the delay. I also loved the Kaiju Preservation Society. Your humour speaks to me!

I read an excerpt of this in The Kaiju Preservation Society. Looking forward to reading the whole thing!

Glad to see you here, and thanks for putting other authors into your work. I’m really enjoying Jasper Fforde!

Such a great read/listen!

It's definitely a great price for an excellent novel.

Loved this book. Would love to see a follow up sequel because cat super villains are cool.

BAH, Hiss. I already own it.

Wondering if you get the same payment when ebook is on sale. Don't know if this is confidential, but you tend to be upfront on publishing economics.

Fantastic book! Recommended it to several people.

"Starter Villain" is a fantastic read with some rather interesting (and potentially allergy inducing) characters.

I have a scrumptious-smelling hardcover waiting in my TBR pile right now, so I'm good, but still, that's awesome.

The book was great fun, but it's really all about the cover, John.

My daughter gave it to me for Christmas last year, finally getting around to reading it. And very much enjoying it!

I like it a lot...cats!

It was my favorite book this year. I think the text married with the perfect narrator makes it sublime

It was a fun romp! Thanks.

Any chance of doing some more in The Dispatcher series? Really enjoyed that

I’ve not read this, but you had me at “spy cats”.

I order that book in hardcover as well as When the moon hits your eye

Ooooh, thanks for the reminder to purchase.

Two things can be true!

I enjoyed the book very much even though I am not a cat person. It's one book though where my brain was working on possible avenues for sequels.

Old skool, bought it at B&N when I was buying a copy of The Last Dangerous Visions. Also, got three books from the Slow Horses series.

Just bought polish translation. I hope for fun mr Scalzi! :)

Terrific book. In my ignorance (as a bookseller at an indie store) and without snark I wonder how those sales benefit the author. I'm glad they do. I just wish we weren't devaluing the price of creative work. And, again, typing in plain ignorance not attack mode.

Thanks for the reminder. Just picked it up.

I finally picked it up from my local bookstore! Read the first chapter this morning. I paid... more than $1.99, but I regret nothing.

Just finished it and I’m sadder than ever that I’m allergic to cats!
