I just recently had this happen. One girl went from happily licking the other one to slapping her. (Maybe she was mad the other one licked her back? IDK what goes on in her tiny brain.)

Oh look...it's these two.

Cats have their own culture, but they tend to return what they are given. If you desire indifferent cats, be indifferent to your cats. Angry cats, be angry to your cats. Affectionate cats, be affectionate to your cats. Don't expect this learned behavior to suddenly change when you want it to.

Black cat: "Here's my belly." Orange cat: "Ok." <they resume napping>

My brother and sister and I were the same way, and I really think I was a cat in a previous life. I hope to be a pampered house cat in a future life, too. 😀
