It's interesting when you ask people to imagine what their life would be like if they were transported historically to the past. Some people seem to assume they'd be in the relatively well-off 1-2% and it would go fine for them. Meanwhile I just assume I'd be a secluded female peasant.

Oh me too: a daughter then a wife on a couple of subsistence Welsh hill farms, probably dying in childbirth like my g-grandmother (I can’t imagine myself a servant in a large house because I’d have been so bad at it I’d have been turfed out to survive the streets. Too unpleasant to contemplate)

It’s the same fantasy you get from people who believe in reincarnation. They always claim they were an Egyptian princess or a medieval duke in a castle in their past life, not the far more likely existence as a rural peasant perpetually on the brink of starvation and/or death from cholera or plague.

I was really disappointed to get a past life regression and find out that I was a very bitter old man who was constantly disappointed in my children in Italy, dying in poverty and pain.

I would have to be a Robin Hood like person. I don't do well with elitism, and people that try and control others through manipulation, coercion, and bullying. Also Passive aggression is not my thing.
