I fucking hate that I have to vote for judges. How the fuck should I know whether or not these THIRTEEN PEOPLE are good at their jobs? Did they fill out a performance review? Do I look them each up on LinkedIn and reach out to their coworkers? Even the ones w Wikipedia pages give me no information.🤷‍♀️

Back when I wasn't in Kyoto and internet search wasn't shit, I used to just google "[judge name] controversy" and then check Ballotpedia to see who was financially backing them and who endorsed them. But I dunno if these old ways still work, and also that was a LOT of work for one vote.

Local district judge candidate made it easy for me to vote for his opposition. The mailers supporting dude were about nothing but his religious views. Otherwise I look for cases they adjudicated... which is hard sometimes.

Gotta wonder if he studied as a singer but then when Josh Groban popped up on Ally McBeal he was like "NO! This was my thing!! SIGH, I guess I'll go to law school instead..." (to this day, he can't see Calista Flockhart or the "dancing baby" without crying)

You should check and see if your state bar rates judge on their website. It doesn’t provide a ton more context, but at least it’s *some* info.
