True, but technically, it's not a cancer vaccine. The human papillomavirus (HPV) vaccine targets the viruses responsible for causing some forms of cervical cancer.

There are some cancer vaccines but they're a) Still experimental. b) Only good against the specific cancer this patient has c) Very expensive to produce.

I've often wondered about that as well. Having come from a strong medical background. These people got through 8 plus years of medical school! Endless hours on call! Endless hours of lost sleep. That's through the sheer will of the individual.

i remember when my kids were little and there was a meningitis outbreak in our city 3 kids died. they started a mass vaccination program. there was no protests or refusal. we were all just so goddam happy to be getting this vaccine. today, i’m afraid the bodycount would be higher!

In the early 1960’s when I was very young and in school there was a girl in my class who had polio. She wore cumbersome braces on her legs. I also remember standing in line with my mom and all our neighbors for the sugar cube. As an adult I’ve met older people who had polio. WHY is rfk doing that

A former neighbor contracted polio shortly prior to the vaccine being released. He spent time in an iron lung as a child. He continues to have lung problems, including a very painful collapsed lung. You can be sure his kids and grandkids are all fully vaccinated.

Add HPV - and here in Australia, teen girls (like my daughter) got the vaccine and are at hugely reduced risk of developing cancer of the cervix. The "K" in Robert Kennedy Jr.'s name does not stand for Fitzgerald.

To be more fairly nuanced, let’s be open to the possibility that those who prayed for their loved ones who had any of these diseases were OK to thank the God of their choice that science was able to discover vaccines.

(repost): My mom was a Christian Scientist, and was constantly trying to deny me medical care for religious reasons. My dad made sure I got vaccinated, and snuck me to the doctor. Other C.S. kids weren't (aren't) so lucky. They suffer and die from easily preventable diseases. Insane.
