Post

I've said this 20 years ago that if you cured cancer, there would be millions of jobs lost around the world. All the Doctors, all the researchers, there was no incentive for them to find a cure.

I work in a cancer center and we would much rather cure people than watch them die slow painful deaths. Every day there are new developments in treatment. Things that were fatal previously now are curable. If we spent more money on prevention and early diagnosis more cancer would be cured.

Caregiver here. I love cancer center employees and find the original post to be Alex jones level conspiracy baiting.

Not to wish bad things on bad people ... but if you're in the pharmaceutical industry and holding your breath YOU don't get an incurable disease; your parents/spouse, your kids ... ponder that. The thing about disease ... it doesn't care who you are. Have a nice day.

I’m going to say something that’s going to prob not make you happy. First of all I agree with you and also this is a similar sentiment held by people on the other side of the aisle. and by medical orphans. this is part of the root of distrust of the medical system

I would not be surprised if pharma companies are actually trying to create new chronic diseases that cannot be cured, only treated. The subscription model on steroids in medicine.

There's a dentist online promoting oral probiotics as the cure all for all dental disease. Probiotics are helpful but not a cure all for dental caries, accesses, periodontal disease etc

This nation turned an obesity crisis-& diabetes crisis- into a lifestyle choice, managed by the pharmaceutical industry. And every medication I see advertised has potentially serious side effects, which the industry "solves" by creating a new pill 2moderate the side effects. Head shaking stuff.

Analogously ten companies control almost every large food and beverage brand in the world, including Nestlé, Pepsico, Coca-Cola, and Unilever. These companies have every incentive to encourage people to over-eat, paying food chemists good salaries to devise increasingly addictive formulations.

Let's hear what "AI" thinks, since the Orange Felon wants to rename it to "SI" because it's superior. Ask it and let's see what it says. Then worry if it gives you the answer to "kill" instead of "cure".

government was or should be a combination of public and the private sector. while most things require $, some things are not $. For Goldman Sachs, $ is what they are about. It says nothing about quality, creativity, academia, invention, the well being of the country...people, land, weather.

Capitalism incentivizes sociopaths, period. Just reduce actual living beings into meaningless numbers and loot an pillage away. A modern society cannot go on this way without catistrophic consequences. But I guess we're just going to have to learn that lesson the hard way.

Let’s do the math. For example, in the US: 1. 382,640 women are diagnosed w/breast cancer yearly 2. Current Treatment sales=$43.3B/yr 3. A cure would easily sell for $3-5 million (based on current gene/cell therapies) 4. Cure sales would be over a trillion dollars/year (26x more)”

It never occurs to the "creators" of "nobody is interested in cures" that there is more than one patient and thus "curing a disease in one patient" is not the end for the drug. But people love feeling outrage.

That has nothing to do with the US (North, Central or South American?) All pharma companies exist to make money. They all operate on the basis of reality -- medicine doesn't save anyone. We're all going to die of something. Medicine only extends life and/or makes it less painful to die. Period.

While there are probably some bad healthcare companies, this is absolutely not true, especially for non-profit healthcare. You want a villain or a conspiracy? Look at the insurance companies. People put off needed care because of the cost and insurance denials then end up getting sicker.

Curing a disease to pharma is like wireless electricity to utilities. JP Morgan would have none of it. We will not get it .... until greed is cured.

Glad my mom was in the trials of Harvoni and has been Hep C free for multiple years. She had it for 30 years. She had to be so so careful with cuts, nosebleeds, sharing things with even me, and had to watch for signs of liver failure. Now she can actually LIVE. Like we should all have the right to.

I was diagnosed with leukemia in 2007. Historically it was a two year death sentence. In 2002 a first of its kind genetic drug was released that if taken every day basically cured the disease. It did. In 2025 I stopped taking the drug and have no signs of the leukemia. There are many such stories.

So were scientists on the brink of finding cancer cures? Is that why billionaires wanted our research gutted? Who else was behind the scenes of DOGE's chain saw?

Not even close This was an investor memo, not a chastisement to the drug company Harvoni wasn't strangled by private equity, it was phased out for better hepatitis C meds. Harvoni is a WHO essential medicine And if "they want you sick," don't you think "they" would have crushed vaccines by now?

Wouldn’t matter if healthcare were not for profit and didn’t trade on the stock exchange That’s when shareholders became the customers and patients moved from customer to product

Vaccines are truly inexpensive, compared to treating the diseases they prevent. The toddler son of an anti-vaxxer I know, got pneumonia, ended up hospitalized on oxygen for a week, sustained permanent lung damage, and will need medication for the rest of his life. The vaccine costs, max: $330.

This is precisely why I say cancer will never be cured. There are too many people invested in it as a career and specialist would be put out of business think of all the machinery and the chemicals and the drugs and the THERAPY. It is a GLOBAL money maker.

Old Eddie Murphy stand-up routine. "Almost everyone here will live long enough eventually to make a phone call like this: 'Hey, I can't come in today, my AIDS is acting up.'"

which is one reason why fed (HHS) R&D is critical to developing cures and treatments for diseases There are (or were) grants and awards for public/private partnerships to support this work and get products to market The gutting of HHS has decimated R&D and pharma focuses on lifetime rx’s not cures

The bigger problem IMO, with the expense of medical and dental is: How many suffer, in some cases die, just because they cannot afford & so fear going? I'm on Medicare, my experience with an echo on my heart (let me tell you about that bit of fun 🤬) was $5K for an hour. My cut of that is $1500./

I guess it's split into two procedures (???), one for the heart and one for my stomach vein (aorta?). I also need an MRI on my knee and another on my neck. They absolutely refuse to tell me how much it will cost so I know what my cost will be. So I just don't go. Suffer. Sure, nothing realistic/

You should try it on the other side maybe. They took 9 images of my knee then said "Move your left knee right here so we can get one last shot". Uh, hey it's my right knee! "Oh. Move your right knee here and we'll get that shot and just include the others". My gal pal went in seeking hormone/

This is RFK Jr propaganda. It’s depressingly anti-medicine. I’m sorry for every overworked Doc who will be wasting their time trying to explain to antivaxxers and sheeple that it’s BS. I’m sorry.

I’ll never forget explaining to my residents that only a tiny fraction of patients who needed to be cured of hepatitis C – something like 3%— were getting access to the cures at that point, because of how the Pharma companies priced them. And I explained to them we would be...

… dealing with the horrifying tragedies of end stage liver disease in the patients who didn’t have access to these treatments, because in the US, the most important thing is that Pharma makes its money. Not the well-being of the people. Never has been. Capitalism is evil.

Our scientists create these drugs. The problem is with the Corporate overseers that want increasing profits for themselves...

This is dangerous nonsense. Our medical system is staffed by millions of professionals who'd have to be in on some grand scheme to do this. It's wrong amd insulting. Stop promoting nonsense conspiracy theories.

That's a great point and it doesn't require the belief that a conspiracy exists to make us all sick or string us along with maintenance drugs when the cure exists.

RFK Jr propaganda is spreading through the ignorant masses. Note the professional quality of the video production. It’s so depressing. 😞

That's the case, sadly. But it's one more reason we need healthcare so pharma companies could be incentivized to cure patients while not putting their sole priority on profits. Lower drug prices too, while they are at it so people wouldn't have a hard time getting them.

That’s why the entire “pink-washing” for breast cancer research is just a massive profit-making machine for pharmaceutical companies. That money goes to create more drugs not cure breast cancer🤬

This is why they are strictly limiting GLP-1 use. That is a silver bullet for lots of disease processes at low doses and it will break down the whole profit machine.

It's all about the treatment not the cure For profit healthcare wants everyone sick for THEIR profit Watch Run from the Cure He tells The cancer society he may have a cure, here's proof. They weren't interested. They said" We Treat Cancer" as long as For Profit exists there will be No cure

Ok, there is truth to some of this, but let's be honest, we do have an amazing solution, via pharmaceutical companys for measles and polio and the idiots won't take them. That isn't on big pharm, that's just sheer stupidity.

She is a hundred percent correct, our whole healthcare system is meant to keep people sick because otherwise there is no profit. America’s healthcare is a scam because corporations matter more than people.

As a medical provider I can tell you this is absolute garbage as far as people who diagnose and treat. The healthcare system is already overwhelmed with having enough providers to treat the well and those with incurable diseases, we aren't keeping people sick with things that are curable.

I am sorry but as long as large corporations make tons of money off sick people there is no incentive actually want to cure them.

I'm sorry you feel that way about millions of people dedicated to caring, healing, and curing others. Next time you get medical care, mention your theory re: everyone is a cog in the wheel of medical deception and disease promotion. We medical professionals love to have our work diminished. ✌🏻

This is a long-standing trope in the alt-med scamiverse. Meanwhile, HPV vaccines have eliminated cervical cancer in several countries, and new mRNA therapies look like being able to cure several intractable cancers.

Not to mention they’re making this conspiracy post at a time where measles is returning to the wild having been removed from it by that same evil science.

This is what patent laws are for. Massive revenue for blockbuster drugs in the first years (followed by a steep decline) is the norm, and the incentive for companies to develop them. If we're going to have a capitalist system, then I want the people making our lives better to be the ones to profit.

That’s why having doctors control your life from the legislature is a bad idea and why Americans don’t have universal healthcare! Greedy doctor politicians is the problem!
