Which architectural style would your fantasy character prefer for their lair: Art Nouveau or Art Deco? #ttrpg #dnd #rpg #meme #ttrpgsky #ttrpgcommunity

I find Art Nouveau to be very Elf coded in my setting if you change the colors a bit. Though idk about Art Deco and Dwarves. My Black Kobolds though, they embrace brutalism.

it is an extremely accurate description, and my Cleric of Loviatar would instead dig Cenobite architecture or just your basic medieval torture dungeon, no frills please...

My 2 best fantasy PCs are escaped slaves. They dislike ostentation. That said, they are hedonist gadflies. Their 'castle', The Bear Necessities, is a 5-storey inn by a lake. Its 24/7 cabaret is boisterous, the ferries are busy, the caravansary is packed, and a cockatrice guards the chickens.

Art Deco, no question -- clean geometric menace reads as villain HQ / command center to me (kind of fits the sci-fi horror station vibe from your Shadows over Sol box). Art Nouveau feels more like a fae court or a nature-mage's retreat, not a lair to be feared.

My druid prefers a cave, or a grass hut. My goliath paladin would like a stone castle, preferably above the clouds. Probably Art Deco, but as gothic as possible. My halfling assassin would take Art Nouveau, but only if he was squatting. My elf warlock would be Art Nouveau, in shades of grey.
