"SI" is already shorthand in the US government for "special intelligence" (mostly, signals intelligence). The mix-ups are going to be funny to watch, so long as they're not too disastrous.

Unfortunately for me, my employer is big into both A.I. and calling the Gulf of Mexico by a stupider name. I may play these off each other: "Did you say A.I.? Shouldn't you call it S.I. for the same reason that you call that body of water the Gulf of America?"
