I want there to be an overthrow of neoliberal command in the Democratic party, but then in order to win there would need to be a greater shift from the populist right to the populist left than there would be of the corporate & center left to the right... not a comfortable reality for anyone really.

The US has veered so far to the right in recent years that anything that remotely looks left leaning is suddenly described as 'radical' or 'communist'. It's not radical to care for people that one governs, while the rich continue to piss on all of us and tell us it is raining.

I hope when #republicans attack #DSA with their fear obstruction during midterms induction, progressive #democrats counter their corruption with: “Look at #NewYork. Do you really see hunger, squalor, death & destruction? Or crime reduction, new construction, and positive production? Your deduction?”

The world is being ruined by rich, white, extremely right wing men - both politicians and the corporations who own them. People like Mamdani are the answer. They won’t get everything right of course - but they will have the balls to have a right good go. That’s got to be the starting point.

I'm talking the violent version, which will happen when the left AND the right decide that they will not be slaves to the wealthy. If our military will not fulfill their oath to protect the Constitution from the domestic enemy Trump, the people will be the only ones who will.

By left wing you mean: Affordable health care Affordable housing Affordable child care Living wages Fair taxation for all including corporations and billionaires! How is this not mainstream?

If the Septics knew what left wing is because they throw communism, socialism, liberalism, radical and other bollocks around like confetti and each one is wrong, wrong and wrong again. In fact, if we can start calling the 'right' reactionary it might do that job perfectly being what they are.

"Will the Mamdani effect make 2028 the year of the leftwing president?" No. The Dem establishment will never let anyone other than a centrist (by US standards, so firmly right wing by ours) onto the ticket.

That's a rare example of where the better candidate beat the Dem establishment choice. Unfortunately too many people are won over by the argument that you have to be in the centre to win the general. It's utter rubbish, of course, as the past 10 years shows. But people fall for it.
