Then who made the drogue chutes?

Truly!

Crazy good post!!!

Seeing those three main chutes open up was just 🤌

Brave move making the parachutes out of Tunnocks Teacake wrappers

This is the moment of Awww we needed to prove to ourselves that the USA is capable of doing great things for mankind. Fuck Trump

We can still do some things right!

when you all wake up and realize what elon has in store for NASA you're going to look back at this moment and regret any positive thing you said about this 💔

Gives me goosebumps. I had flashbacks to the Apollo program.

Whahoo 👏👏👏

Because we, collectively, don't want to. It's that simple. If we shut down NASA *entirely* it would make for a rounding error to the U.S. government's annual budget.

Thank you NASA for live coverage!

Truly!

There was a moment when I thought the third parachute wasn't going to open properly - gulp.

I was 12 when the US last visited the moon. Besides making me feel ANCIENT, it makes me realize how very many people weren't even born yet! Was watching on ABC, & it was mentioned that David Muir was born the year after the last Apollo mission.

wooooow

I'm guessing they're venting hydrazine, but I don't know that for sure

Red white and blue or mint candies ❤️

SPLAHDOWN!

It gives people hope

I have tears.

Once again, America has caught up with Russia and China. Can we now see the fucking Epstein files?

Love those smiles 😃

Just SO exciting!

Congrats all the men and women of NASA. Thank you to our four courageous astronauts. To all the NASA men and women fired last year, I hope you are proud of your contribution. Here’s to more scientific exploration for benefit of humanity. Godspeed👏👏👏👏

Welcome back and the safest, softest of landings.

Safely home!

Ditto!

AMERICA! We should be naming after our bldgs, monuments, after our heros, our astronauts, not Trump. wtf?

Beautiful sight 👍👍👍👍👍

Yep

I feel sad, that during such a wonderful moment, about half the world probably hates America.

Absolutely amazing!

Should’ve saved one for it.

Can you imagine how the 4 on board felt when the chutes pulled them down in their seats and they knew they were safe?

So exciting !!

Same!

especially if you are inside...

Saw it many times already-- like 50 years ago

I was surprised that no one was screaming in the background as that thing hurtled towards the sea. I'm pretty sure I don't have the right stuff:) But to all the people involved, thanks for achieving such a triumph.
