Today I learned Le Creuset makes something called a pie vent. Never heard of a pie vent so I looked it up I don’t know what I was expecting

I really recommend the 2022 documentary “It’s Quieter in the Twilight,” which profiles the scientists working in relative obscurity to keep the Voyager spacecraft operating—many of them past retirement age, but unwilling to quit until the Voyagers do. It was very sweet and thought-provoking.

Now (re)watching Shogun (1980). It's been ~20 years since I first watched it, but I remember it being better than the FX series in some ways (closer to the book, no shitty greenscreens, not everything is dark/drab, etc.) We'll see if it holds up.

No idea what I watched to make the youtube algo start recommending livestreams of Japanese railway crossings, but I put one up on my second monitor and I must admit I get excited when a train goes by.

It's sad to see two Americans, sons of the great cities of New York and Chicago, embroiled in a petty dispute. I'm sure if they just got together to share a simple and uncontroversial pizza, these two boys could settle their differences.

Whenever I see a deer in the woods I slowly walk towards it making gentle noises in the hopes that it'll come to me and let me pet it, but they always run away 😞
