Post

It’s only just dawned on me, but Bioware’s impact on the culture I cover is so significant that I happened to post an advertisement for Knights of the Old Republic (2003) just hours before the studio closed.

KotOR was incredible, and it’s not for nothing that it often tops lists of the best Star Wars games. 😎 The first time I experienced it, I watched my brother play it on the Xbox. The big reveal was brilliant. The reimagining of the Star Wars universe was brilliant. The Ebon Hawk was brilliant.

I didn't play it for 2 decades, but Jade Empire was really good. This game deserves a remaster.

When my bro received Mass Effect for Christmas, the game had completely flown under my radar. The prologue and the lore-filled codex motivated me to buy a 360. Mass Effect remains my personal favorite—flaws and all—for the sense of horror and impending apocalypse it evokes within a sci-fi mystery.

Yeah, also, thanks for my fav gif ever, Bioware.

Dammit! That's the saddest "coming soon" I've seen. 🫠 The next hero ship looked good! What if the Normandy was sleekier?

"I started my career at BioWare and will forever be grateful to the founders, Greg and Ray, for inviting me to join in BioWare's journey. Its legacy will live on through those who were part of it and continue to create games through a passion for unforgettable stories, worlds, and characters."

"I would have never been here without BioWare igniting the fire in my heart."

Tell me more, tell me more! Let me do a ship design thread!

aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah

The Mass Effect Universe teaser is legit. Confirmed multiple times.

"...with my idea of where it can go next. When I wrote this (in 2025), I knew nothing of what they were planning, so this was a bit narratively speculative. The concept was a direct homage to Jack Wall and Sam Hulick's incredible work on the first game, while leaning even harder on true analog..."

"... leaning even harder on true analog synths, and a more complex integration of the orchestra (almost akin to the hybrid nature of The Matrix)."
