Chairman of Staples Canada is John Lederer - former President of Loblaws and well-known Doug Ford Donor. #Ontario is a very, very small world indeed. Teachers FORCED to buy supplies at Staples for 5x the price instead of searching for best value OR supporting local businesses in places without one.

There should be a disclaimer on this “ Staples “ advertisement. The Doug Ford government own records show that they have consistently underfunded public education & this is not funding public education, this is a an Advertisement & does nothing to address their own records. Shame.

Staples again, eh? First they get ServiceOntario outlets. Now this. What is Doug Ford getting from them? So much for him talking big about boycotting American goods because of Trump's tariffs. Hypocrite.

Google: Staples Canada operates as a separate Canadian entity headquartered in Richmond Hill, Ontario, with nearly 300 stores nationwide. However, it is ultimately owned by the American private equity firm Sycamore Partners rather than being an independently owned Canadian enterprise.

The obvious corporate cronyism and fiscal waste aside, this just makes every classroom in Ontario a potential vector for perceived (or real) fraud. The Toronto Sun will have daily articles complaining about the appropriateness of these expenditures. Alas, destroying public education is the point.
