Voters feeling less disenfranchised and showing up more is another strong evidence why we need electoral reform towards proportional representation (which can also be ranked-choice at the same time too)

BC election data shows 52% of voters stayed home. Global data shows all things being equal proportional elections have higher turnout than systems built solely on single-winner-ridings, because proportional representation means everyone feels they have a voice.

Congratulations to Toronto @mayoroliviachow.ca on her re-election tonight. Given Doug Ford’s constant interference & distractions, Toronto is arguably the hardest city in Canada to be the mayor of. I’m hopeful that in her first FULL term, Mayor Chow will lean in on more bold, creative city-building.

Toronto, don’t forget that polls don’t win elections. Turnout wins elections. Please go out today and #VOTE for @mayoroliviachow.ca.

And finally, in 2021 just slightly MORE CALGARIANS VOTED in favour of not ash-traying our planet than those that voted to STAY IN CANADA in the 2026 #Referendum. That's a POWERFUL MAJORITY of Calgarians in favour of #ClimateAction right here in Calgary. So who's speaking to them right now?

NEW: An order of New York nuns founded in 1817 has rebuked the bishops who laid hands on President Trump. “Images carry messages,” the Sisters of Charity wrote. “Silence carries messages, too.” The nuns have a powerful ally in Pope Leo XIV, who has put women at the center of his leadership.

What a marvelous age we inhabit! Centuries of scientific inquiry may now be dispensed with, provided a gentleman possesses sufficient confidence in his natural instincts. One wonders why Newton troubled himself with mathematics when he might simply have declared himself correct.

The numbers coming in from Alberta are wild. Traditionally conservative blue Calgary voted in numbers as high as 89% to support Canada. The separatist gang were crushed. Sucks to be you Danielle Smith and Pete Hoekstra.

Read them earlier this evening too and was equally blown away. They couldn't be any more xenophobic.

Just read the 10 Alberta referendum questions and was blown away by how xenophobic and just plain nonsensical they are. What a ridiculous waste of taxpayers’ time and money! And all so Dani can try and keep her job.
