More and more organizations, publishers, and creators are abandoning legacy platforms that throttle their reach. Bluesky gives them a direct line to their audiences, without suppression or gatekeeping bsky.app/profile/eff....

After almost twenty years on the platform, EFF is logging off of X. This isn’t a decision we made lightly, but it might be overdue. 🧵 (1/5) www.eff.org/deeplinks/2...

Bluesky algorithms absolutely positively throttle certain users in favor of others. There's no other way to explain how somebody with a thousand followers can get 14,000 likes on a post yet someone with 30,000 followers can't ever get a thousand.

As my follower count has grown, so apparently has the opposition to my existence here. I was blocked 9x one day 11x another day recently. I know the x'ers are migrating over to cause disruption but bsky clearly is too understaffed to deal with it effectively.

until 2 recent posts got almost 3k likes each, I had never gone over 700 likes in over 18k+ posts.

I had a post get over 8k likes—never had that happen and it resulted in 35 blocks but I added 100+ followers. I don’t get it. But I never had this sort of engagement on Xcrement

The easiest way for you to bump over 10k followers in a week or two is just go to the big names who put out starter packs and follow everyone on all of them. But then buckle in. 😉 8k. Sheesh, I'd love to see that one time...

Yeah, follow farmer. Seen that a few times too. I really don't care. I'm never going to be everyone's cup of tea. As long as some people enjoy seeing my posts, I've resigned myself to never really growing to being a big dog here.
