Hey #GameDev and #ATProto! I'm working on tools to decentralize the ownership and management of video games by putting them (or at least their data... for now) on ATProto! I'm looking for feedback, so if you have any interest I'd love to hear your thoughts. ♥️ 🎮 ♥️

Dev mode I wanted to be able to iterate on my early lexicons, and I didn’t know how that would impact other lexicons in lexicon.community. TBF I didn’t do much research into it either, but I figure...

I've gotten this question from a lot of #GameDev: "How can I, a game developer, make use of ATProto in my games?" So I wrote an article to address my work in a way that makes more sense for game developers, especially those that don't know (or care) about ATProto.

It depends what link you're referring to. Data hosting is up to the game owner - it lives in their PDS, which can be self-hosted or use providers like Bluesky. No separate hosting fee from us for the lexicons/infrastructure.

For platform connections (Steam, Epic Games Store, etc.): ideally platforms implement ATProto support themselves. We might build a sync service as a bridge initially, but the primary goal is getting platforms to adopt it directly.

Full transparency: I recognize we're currently adding another platform to manage. But the vision is to be the ONE place that eventually reduces the total. As platforms migrate to ATProto, you'd update data once rather than managing it separately everywhere.
