Live Programming content is more valuable than just Tech Yapping, because while you just yap about your anecdotes, in Actual Live Coding you literally encounter them and can discuss them on the spot without loosing any context.

I would much rather watch someone take a small idea and make it than watch someone give hot takes about frameworks or drama.

It is obviously less marketable to the "wider audience", but not everybody is a Programmer and actually wants to be one. Even those who claim they do quite often lie to themselves (because Tech is hot right now, everybody wants to get in)

It is also hard to pull off. Programmers are not used to talking while coding. Doing actual genuine Live Coding is akin to constant Coding Interview. You need to expose your mind, you need to get vulnerable, you need to engage people into your intimate coding experience somehow.

I respect you a lot for being able to talk through the problems while writing. I haven't done it much (yet) but personally I find myself blanking out and shutting up for a while from time to time if I run into something new and my brain needs alone time. I don't expect that to be top entertainment🥲

What I wanna say is that I wanna see more Tech Content Creators try to push this genre and make it more popular. Because if everything is Just Yapping the next generation of Programmers will think that this is everything there is to it.

Sharing your IDE setup, such as it is, down to key combinations used could help me, personally, follow along much better. Sometimes your work looks like magic!👍 But should it? Are willing to walk ppl through getting your setup? & Flash keyboard input on screen?

I am trying to do a more controlled version of that, recording YouTube videos where I am talking while coding my C++ project. I'm not as good as I would like to be but I'm slowly improving. Doing it on an actual Live on Twitch or similar looks a lot more scary but I will have to try it someday😅
