In case you missed it, TypeScript 7 is a complete 10x faster version of the compiler & language server. It's a full port to parallelized native code. It runs faster, uses less memory, and is more stable than ever before.

Today we're thrilled to announce our effort to port the TypeScript compiler and language service to native code, gaining a 10x speed boost in build times and editor responsiveness! devblogs.microsoft.com/typescript/t...

The 10x is real for many projects, and the speed improvements make a huge difference for teams at scale. TypeScript 7 drops time in CI, and minimizes delays in editors like VS & VS Code. That makes every part of the developer inner loop feel snappy.

The new codebase has been battle-tested by many teams (and entire companies) using it in production for over a year now. In fact, in the editor TypeScript 7 is *more* stable than TypeScript 6, with fewer crashes and lower memory usage.

The side-by-side story deserves a mention too: npm install -D typescript@npm:@typescript/typescript6 keeps 6.0 in reach while the new API is still to come in 7.1, so Vue/Svelte/Astro/Angular setups aren’t forced to pick. Thoughtful migration design.
