We have uploaded our first hotfix patch for DELTARUNE on Steam! Steam should update the game automatically, all you have to do is launch the game again after. Now, back to fixing the next set of bugs...

My game crashed like two times in chapter 3 and one time in chapter 4. I noticed these crashes only occured after playing the game for extended amounts, like more than three hours at least. Good to see it getting patched!

I beat the chapter 3 secret boss after beating chapter 4, and now in my chapter 4 file, I can’t go to the hole in the wall where secret boss items show up, because it’s blocked off (this makes more sense in context)

whatever the outcome is, i do think the scene as it is now lost a lot of impact. the red dot can be misinterpreted as noelle's nose now and it makes for an odd visual. overall, i feel really really disappointed and a little soured. but it doesn't mean i love deltarune less

That reminds me that I did get one crash during my playthrough of chapter 3. It was during the segment where you're in stealth mode and collecting other goons who want to quit too. The final spotlight crashed the game. I remembered the controller issue from before and turned it off and got past.

I'm not sure if turning off the controller helped, but it didn't crash when I did. Here's the error (1/2) ERROR in action number 1 of Step Event0 for object obj_dw_teevie_stealth_d: Variable <unknown_object>.msgno(101291, -2147483648) not set before reading it. at gml_Script_scr_getmsgno_d

I agree with this in all honesty. Best case scenario would be dying a few times would unlock an optional “ever so slightly easier” mode where the hitboxes and/or damage for some attacks are decreased

it's supposed to be hard as fuck so i doubt it'll be changed, it'd be pretty disappointing if so. the fight is really well done and more fun to play and learn than similar fangame fights.

Not sure if Toby reads from this account or not, but I'm just going to say it now, removing it was a mistake, and I think it's an important statement on the way that we interact with art these days, people's reactions to the content say more about them than it does what you made.

Without wishing to spoil, a sprite at the end of a pivotal scene on the alternate route was changed to try and limit the extent of its implications. I think he realised quite how intense the allegory was for people and wanted to try and scale it back.

it may have also been a result of the ESRB catching wind of the scene and threatening to up the age rating? either way i'm not sure how i feel about the altered scene as it is

i feel like it was too much because the scene is very vague as to what happens afterwards and that combined with the "deflowering" imagery entertains at least the possibility for some people and toby just wanted to make it clear. don't really think it's a huge deal to change it honestly

Actually I’d say it’s the opposite, it didn’t limit anything, it just made the implication less direct. I think it’s supposed to be symbolism, it’s clearly not meant to be literally that, & with the new scene it still can be that.

for the cooking mini-game in chapter 3: after nine failed attempts, the game says that the lose condition was removed but doesn't actually remove it. not sure if this is meant as a joke and working as intended or if it's a bug

I think I understand why you removed it, but I still think it deserves to be in there. All the other signifiers and allegories are still there, I don't think it stops the connection from being made.

Toby clearly uses MS Paint to make these, it's just above text that slightly overlaps with the ones below, copied and pasted a screenshot of it and didn't crop that one pixel area out by mistake.

Dear tobe & team, I play this on Mac (yes I know 😂) and after I updated to Sequoia last night, the Steam version crashes @ start 100% of the time…idk if this falls under your «PC umbrella» but I’d love to know it’s being looked into? Tyvm! Love your game ❤️

I can’t replay the minigames from TV World! because it’s “under construction” because I allegedly don’t have enough recruits. In Chapter 3’s file I have everyone yet when I go to Chapter 4, and checked the recruits Watercooler and Shuttah aren’t there. What happened?/ What do I do?

You should add a system where if you lose to a specific boss too many times it makes it do less damage or something like that. There are people already complaining and I'm stuck too

And separate from my other posts, thanks. It's all been delightful so far. Music in particular has been transcendental. The writing, stellar. The designs? Uh. The Ch.3 antagonist (not That Boss) unnerves me. The way they're rendered is at odds with the surroundings, and I hate 'em. Thanks (/gen)!

Ch.4 secret boss is incredible. I really had fun with it, and it's going into my collection of save files for when I want to go back and experience just that fight again. Ch.3 boss is "pain". Ch.4 boss is "glory".

I beat That Boss on Chapter 3. And then I went to The Cutting Room Floor, and saw that That Boss was planned to be even ruder. It's okay. I respect the gumption to put in a boss that is supposed to be on a whole 'nother level, but I tremble at what might have been. Maybe save that for the Dojo.

Also, for the homies who walk in the footprints I leave, a means to change one's gear after a try would be cool. I went in with one Revive Dust and four CD Bagels. I'm lucky to have the Gamer Sense™ to see a SAVE Point in an open field and know I'm due for an asskicking, but that's not for everyone.

Deltarune is half of $24.99 for countries that aren't first-world. Here in Pakistan, it's $12.49. But even though that's like 3000 PKR in our currency (worth days of food), it's not "overpriced". This game has so much content right now and much more coming in the future, I'd say it's a valid price.

you do realize we still live under capitalism? the team needs to make a profit to like survive somehow. Now I’m in favor of ending capitalism but there are limited options other than selling at a loss.
