I can't fully get my thoughts out in a post like this, but I truly believe Wii U era Nintendo encouraged people to form parasocial relationships with CEOs I have lots of respect for Iwata, and I like Reggie. But people treat these guys like gods, and Nintendo's desperation back then enabled it

I personally prefer the more distanced, "corporate" approach of Furukawa and Prichard. They are CEOs, Nintendo is a company, and I'm a customer. They don't try to sugarcoat this relationship.
