Is the Trump administration punishing Anthropic because it’s refusing to help mass surveil American communities or build killer robots? The American people deserve to know what Trump officials are planning at the Pentagon. Secretary Pete Hegseth must testify.

washingtonpost.comTrump orders U.S. government to drop use of Anthropic’s technologyPresident Trump made a dramatic intervention in the dispute between Anthropic and the Pentagon over use of AI for autonomous weapons or surveillance.

Oh they should absolutely still bother with it. It’s just not as effective when you have an administration that doesn’t care about rule of law or the constitution unless it benefits them personally.

ICE has 125 warehouses across the US. Why do you think they need surveillance links? Please don't cave on shutting them down due to war distractions? Dems ALWAYS cave! Once they are all filled, it will be too late for the country. Happy 250th.

I’m not gonna lie…this showdown with Anthropic scares me. If an AI company is putting a huge government contract at risk, what Hegseth wants them to do must be horrifying…

We know what the Trump regime is doing. And Anthropic said no. They said: " We cannot in good conscience accede. And the administration blacklisted them for it. Treated an American company that makes a product used in classified military systems — the only such AI — like a foreign adversary.

Testify?! Why don’t you just do the job you were elected to do?? We’re out here suffering and dying and you just want to flap your lips for the cameras? At this point all elected Dems, save a couple, should resign in mass so that Dem governors can appoint people who might actually do their jobs

So he’s perfectly fine with big corporations giving him obvious bribe money, but when somebody tries to do the right thing now this piece of shit has a problem?

This seems a big deal and Anthropic has made this commitment as a reason it split from OpenAI. Having ethical values in an age of doing anything for big money seems a good thing and offers an important alternative capitalist should admire.

I get it. But frankly I don’t trust this regime with powerful technology and if Anthropic’s is the best in class then it’s better that Hegseth can’t get anywhere near it.

Honest question: what use is his testimony? He won’t answer most questions and won’t answer anything honestly. We saw it with Bondi and Hegseth is even more the sycophant.

I’d actually prefer they bring in others within the chain of command. People who might feel like they have more to lose and might actually give shades of the truth. Not give a platform for this idiot to scream indignantly which will be allowed by the Republican controlled committees.

When we’ve brought down corrupt organizations like the mob, we don’t do so from the top down. We start with the lieutenants and the capos. Also bring in the people from Anthropic, who seem more than willing to tell the truth.

Kudos to Anthropic for sticking to their beliefs that trumps administration would use their technology for evil. Anthropic will find a country that will agree to their terms. America is going to be so far behind in tech, medical breakthroughs, climate change all due to trump

probably worse. Probably refusing to do something completely unfeasable or impossible with today's technology, not refusing to do something that's illegal or unethical. Either way, Elon will gladly say that his company will do the illegal/unethical/impossible/all three thing.

Message to the US: YOU ARE IN THE MIDDLE OF A COUP D'ETAT. The president is a criminal who don't give a crap about the law, and he controls the Congress and SCOTUS. Your best hope is that Donald dies soon, and JD Vance chickens out and stops the plan to rig the elections. NO INSTITUTIONAL WAY OUT

Right! @warren.senate.gov This is actually an amazing opportunity for a turnaround ⚡️IF the #TechSector would join together with #Anthropic ⚡️for ethical reasons to support #AmericanPeople = ⚡️#RedLineEthics #Danger ⚡️ #DoNotUseTechAgainstUS #Tech #TechCrunch #TechWorkers #TechCEO’s
