She's specifically waiting for a letter declaring the consensus to be delivered on the wings of mighty Pegasus, and feels it would be inappropriate to move forward without the absolute agreement of all parties AND the presence of the winged horse of legend.

waiting for a "consensus" that will never arrive is exactly why DC ended up killing the Connecticut Ave Bike Lane plan. NIMBYs will never agree to anything that allows for more bikes or more housing, so by saying you are looking for "consensus" with them, you are letting them veto every project

"Community input and consensus" is a plan for doing nothing. People simultaneously want their own local streets to be slow and safe, and all their preferred driving routes on other people's streets optimized for going as fast as possible.

There is a blatant right way to design cities, factually and data backed. Its not a focus on cars but moving people. Its an investment in redesigning your city and how it moves its people. Its phasing out street parking one piece at a time. Reality is you have to expand public transit to make up

for people no longer being able to park where ever they want, you have to negotiate and rebuild train networks that once connected people to surrounding towns so they can get to jobs in and out of the city. Its a huge investment and its a step by step process, but protected bike lanes

will empower every citizen to safely move about the city without the need of a car. It will bring more business to local neighborhood shops. In tandem u have got to build mixed use apartment buildings, that are taller than 6 stories, 10-20 with commercial, offices first few floors & apartments above

@wutrain.bsky.social this absolutely sucks. I've seen at least 3 fatal driver against cyclist crashes in front of my own home. I'll be sure to let the next grieving family know you just needed more input and that's why their kid's brains are splattered against Symphony Hall

@mayorwu.boston.gov do the goddamn job we elected you to. You're willing to use the bully pulpit for White Stadium but not for saving our lives? You should be modeling yourself after Parisian mayors, not Chuck "I Will Happily Watch You Die While Seeking Consensus" Schumer. Inaction here is murder.

Hi Drew, not sure if you already sent a letter on this topic, but feel free to share with your network. Maybe local feedback from Boston folks can help her understand this is misguided and dangerous to the whole city bsky.app/profile/theb...
