This is Wynn. She insists on her human's full attention before jumping into the water. Not gonna do anything fancy, just likes an audience. 14/10 (IG: wynn_thegolden)

Our lab once jumped into a lake without looking & almost landed on a moose. 😱 Of course this dog was focused on retrieving his ball from the water & ignored the moose. Luckily the moose just ignored the dog as well 😮‍💨

Growing up, our family had a standard French poodle. She was wonderful, but little did we know that she was a splendid and intrepid swimmer. She would swim out to our dock with us, fetch sticks thrown into the lake and, just have the time of her life. Special memories.

Well duh. Water-lovin’ is right there in the name: the German word Pudel or Pudeln, which means "to splash in water.” Poodles were originally bred as water retrievers in Germany, specifically for hunting waterfowl.

Poodles are great dogs. Highly intelligent—they get it. I trained our poodle to “count”. Amazed all my family and guests that would come to the house when I was a kid.

I never realized that until we adopted our current poodle mix. He’s half poodle. He can totally read the room. When he gets too barky at the living room window. I’ll walk in the room, nothing said but my grim expression. He’ll hang his head and walk out of the living room. 😄

I think that's how she knows it's ok to do. Mine looks back at me when she's way far ahead off leash like, "still ok with this? just checking"

Wynn knows her worth! Until you give her full attention, she’ll keep coming back to you again and again. Wynn clearly knows how to make sure her audience is ready. Such a confident and adorable performer. 😄🐶

My dog Piper loves to swim. Her favorite fetch DLC is 'Save the Drowning Stick'. She still hasn't figured out that she can take herself swimming without needing the gimmick of fetch or a stick, and she's old enough and we swim enough that she probably never will. 😆 So I'll keep drowning the sticks.✌️

Ahoy Blue Sky! This is my McNab doggo, Piper. My name is Kate, but you can also call me K. Never stop learning. #dogs

I was a lifeguard during college at a large outdoor pool. A lot of the kids would do exactly this. They wanted to make sure you were watching them when they jumped in.
