Plus emails. Plus slack/teams messages. I’m a heavy user of AI, but using it to write things for other humans to read I just cannot get on board with. Human to human does actually matter.

Today I saw a video of this beautiful human called Brendan Fraser. From time to time I search for a name and the current year to see how famous people keeps up (for the good and for the bad). 90% of the images are AI slop. Most of them, the worse kind of slop. Internet is definitely broken.

Oh probably! I just never wade through the morass to find the gems. I don't really passively engage with YouTube - I go there to find an answer or an obscure song, then I get out.

Generally agreed, but in this case I think this has less to do w/ generating scripts and more with people using stock phrases like this and “Let Me Explain” to try to game engagement for the algorithm. You’re still basically letting AI effectively write your script, just a scrolling AI vs an LLM.

Fair enough! I still think that could be a feedback loop of phrases that surfaced as engagement drivers in the algorithm being fed back into LLM training data, but in the end the distinction probably doesn’t matter that much

Like, I’m not disagreeing that LLMs generate this phrase” (as you’ve proven), but more that phrases like this and “let me explain” are used by people with Algorithm Brain whether or not they use LLM tools themselves. But the crazy part is I didn’t do a good job of letting myself explain.
