Throwing up the bat signal. If you or your organization is hiring software engineers (remote/Phoenix area), please let me know. I miss working with a team of equally passionate engineers just looking to build cool stuff and I'm looking for any opportunities ❤️

Crazy just how much better things COULD be under more competent leadership. How we could have innovated + created new research and jobs with a transformative approach to our collective goals. How much we could have collectively grown + ideated to meet the moment instead of just blowing it all up.

death by algorithms is a hell of a way to go gg engineers

I said it at the time (and before!), but I truly believe that American voters electing Donald Trump for a second term in 2024 was the dumbest and most self-harming choice made by an electorate in the history of humanity

Another year, another season of me getting hard baited by the Colts, only for it to end in heartbreak and/or tragedy. Happy NFL Sunday! We made it.

Big Walk GOTY Finished an 18 hour playthrough with a great group of friends and I had so much fun. Few co-op games make me feel fuzzy and Big Walk had plenty of those moments.

My infant is the most sensitive sleeper, so you know I have *10 Hours White Noise for Sleeping & Relaxation* on YouTube while I'm slinking around my own kitchen like a ninja.

my dev team's been cut in half this past year so now my closest coworker is halfway across the globe 🙃 and we've been rug-pulled into hybrid work 🫠 and management keeps shifting priorities on the weekly 🫩 non-profit world is doing me in bro

Let it be known that when I give LLMs any credit it's when it operates out of the sexy quadrant

Brittany Ellich@brittanyellich.com

This. I don't think anyone is really anti-AI. They're anti-the-companies-pushing-AI. LLMs have some really incredible use cases. They can be assistive technologies, help with mental load, and allow you to focus more on the present than an endless stream of tasks or your phone.

Ever since I saw Iron Man in middle school, I envied the idea of a personal assistant I could guide towards refined solutions and, especially lately with DS4f, it's had its moments. Where it doesn't shine is when it rips off creators and generates garbage media. Or stakeholders beholden to it 😮‍💨

Crappy morning. I find LLMs really beneficial in certain areas of my life, but a lot of people think AI use of any kind is the devil. While this is irritating, what frustrates me more is knowing the real problem is the companies trying to shove this crap up every orifice of our lives. I'm so tired.

Nobody wants predictive data models to stop working for the people in medicine. Or translating ancient Pompeii texts. Or the other ways we were already using it. We want it to stop replacing workers, killing the environment, and stealing from artists. Hope that clarifies.

So happy I bailed from GM when I did. Fantastic teams & coworkers. Horrendous & incompetent leadership.

GM CEO Mary Barra is introducing Trump at his rally. Something to keep in mind if you're in the market for a vehicle anytime soon.

The beauty of sports is you can just decide at any point “I give a shit about this now. Against all reason.” Ten minutes later you hate one of the teams more than life and it’s all downhill from there.

Freedom250, sure, but I'm also thinking about our 100 year anniversary. Hope the elite have a fun Roarin' 20's. 30's are sure to be as fun.

Happy this is the first image I got to use on. and s/o to the bluesky team, that's a much cleaner scroll. no more menu triggering 👍

This is the surefire number one way to tell you're dealing with someone who fucking sucks. Across all fields and the political spectrum. Always criticizing never admitting mistakes. Going through life never letting themselves be the butt of the joke, not even for silly things.

Everything has to change. Everything. Do not settle for politicians who want to go back to "normal." "Normal" was the garbage state of existence that allowed all of this evil to take root and thrive. Everything has to change.

Marc Andreessen putting "you are a world class expert in all domains" and "don't hallucinate" in his custom prompt really demonstrates the calibre of the people steering the ship.

Open social platforms are touching the interests of big players. These attacks should be a call to action to double down efforts to make them more resilient and reach more people. And to be patient and appreciate the work so many great folks are pouring into recovering our sovereignty on the web.

Mastodon.social is being DDoS right now. That's bad. It was bad when Bluesky was DDoSed. It's bad when open social platforms are attacked. status.mastodon.social

Starbucks is partnering with ChatGPT. The coffee giant has launched an app within the OpenAI chatbot that is supposed to "provide inspiration for customers’ drink orders." Consumers will still need to complete their orders on the Starbucks app or website.

Coworker just got let go 😖 Can't wait for things to get "better", cause this job market, these empty AI promises, these daily living expenses, everything, all of it just fucking sucks right now.

Employer just announced we're going into the office at least once a week 😭 It's getting harder and harder to find remote software work, a statement I find baffling to utter in 2026.
