The whole of Bluesky when they see our Amazon Prime Day deals.

I mean...not wrong. And besides the piling on (which isn't fair really) I think everyone just wants to encourage others to boycott Amazon and other outfits like it. And showing that other people have done it makes it feel like you're not alone. (Yes, I cancelled Prime in the spring.)

That’s kind of crazy to say, Wired’s reporting is exceptional and unafraid of the current administration. This is the issue with so many leftists (I’m a leftist), they find the tiniest of things they don’t like about their ally and ostracize them for it rather than spending that energy on the enemy.

Deeply satisfying to cancel my Amazon Prime membership today, and I wanted you to be the first to know. I have already been boycotting them, but this removes me from their captive audience. I won’t be needing any more notices about Prime Day, thanks. Still have my Wired subscription for now.

I got my subscription to wired, I'm not sayin shit. I do think ya'll should include maybe some more archaic stuff in there like the RG36 game console (except the deals on it kinda suck rn)

During its July 2025 Prime Day event, Amazon shipped an estimated 450 million items. What it fails to report about its Prime Day operations, however, are the guaranteed spikes in carbon emissions that will linger in the atmosphere for centuries.

I mean, there's kind of a boycott against Amazon right now. I haven't shopped there AT ALL this year and soon it will be one year since I started it full force!

Same! Since Jan (expiry date). Never going back. Cancelled all of my social media then minus this and my streaming services. Those who bend the knee can stuff it. Gonna re-subscribe to Netflix because they seem to actually have a spine.

Fuck Wired and fuck Conde Naste. They’re always performing hidden charges on credit cards. Corporate giants who steal from people trying to get by.

Well yeah. Bezos is scum and Amazon shouldn’t get any advertising right now he has his own propaganda network to do that. I get yall need the money but this is a bad look. You can’t be surprised people would be upset by it.

Just a lil message here. Our goal is to help you spend wisely on stuff that isn’t bad—that’s why our team tests everything we recommend. And if you don’t wanna participate in Prime Day, that’s cool too. Have a good one 👋

Sorry people on here are being so aggressively judgey of y'all. I haven't shopped at Amazon in years, but it's hard, and definitely requires more time (and often a higher income) than using Amazon. Plus, the information in the reviews/ads/articles can be helpful on its own.

There's a big difference between posting a roundup story and a great deal here and there and what you've done here today. So far you have posted more than a dozen times about Amazon "deals." This clearly wasn't about your subscribers spending wisely but about maximizing referral link clicks.

I appreciate being given a heads up about a deal as much as the next guy, but a news organization spamming my social feed with affiliate links is not it. Also alt text ya goob 😜

That was my response. I was looking forward to a good sale on the new Echo Dot Max. Nope, the only thing that's on sale is their "newest model" Dot ... from 2022. I only buy Alexa devices when they're on sale, so I guess I'll be sticking with my 2nd, 3rd and 4th generations, and my Pop, for now.

That's your prerogative, its cool. But I'm done acting like Bezos/Amazon isn't a long-term destructive force. My money is, and will, go elsewhere. My life is honestly already better for it.
