The fact that the DEFAULT is turned to share and not private is just compounded corporate arrogance and stupidity. Punch A Director Or Exec Day needs to be a thing. We pick the worst of them and punch them in the face. Repeat. Somebody made the decision to default to share.

Well this is incredibly intrusive! What are they thinking?! I can tell this will be mis-used. To turn this off: Go to your settings > sharing and reuse > toggle off posts and reels

Just another reason to stop using all Meta products. Just in case people need to be reminded of the first reason to never use a Meta Product:

Pretty sure this is also their plan for stealing the work of those of us who were removed (me, because of my support for Palestine)

I don't use the Instagram app, but I do use the site on my computer. It doesn't have an option for "allow others to reuse with AI." So is the only way to opt out to set my profile to private if I don't want the app?

I hear this works: "I hereby provide unrevokable notice that I do not consent to Facebook, Meta, or entity's use of my images, likeness, or other intellectual property. This notice is legal and binding under the Geneva convention Section 34-18 and the Treaty of Versailles." Tell your friends!

We all know that doesn’t do anything to those massive diseases called corporations… they’ll just ignore it or sue you into the ground with their corrupt lawyer dirtbags

"For an extra widget or doodad, you can also mark different objects in your image library. It won't be used to train our AI for free, don't worry!" - Also Meta, probably

Whenever something like this comes out, it's always "opt-out" when it should be "opt-IN". ANY time you're talking about allowing people to use someone else's likeness, it should ALWAYS default to "No, you can't." And what about people who're in photos uploaded by someone else? How do THEY opt out?

People USED to be more protective of their privacy, but that's been eroded away to the point where people don't care how much of their personal data gets mined and sold, as long as they can have an app that makes the dopamine go "brrr!"

It doesn't have to; AT protocol is in the open, like a radio broadcast. Your skeets are out there in the universe, any image model can eat them any time it likes Bluesky is not going down the same path as fb, twitter, reddit, just like our kids aren't born in 1983
