I for one think it’s bad that the president can just say crazy stuff all day every day and 99% of it doesn’t make the news because we’ve normalized having an insane president

Except for those that still openly support Trump. If you’re so willfully ignorant as to support someone so evil, you’re either evil yourself or too lazy to care about evil, and both are unacceptable.

The biggest divide is not between “right” and “left." It’s between democracy and oligarchy. The billionaires who control our economy and democracy seek to divide us. They want us to turn on each other so we don't look up and see that they have all the wealth and power. Remember this.

BREAKING NYT: A month after the Trump admin declared without evidence that thousands of noncitizens had illegally registered to vote in Nevada, DHS officials were unable to substantiate the claim — finding just 185 potential anomalies, not the 16,000 claimed last month.

Every time I have to interact with our medical system, which has been utterly destroyed by for-profit insurance companies and investment firms, I am re-infuriated. We can fix this!

high speed rail? works universal healthcare? works free school lunches? works SNAP? works we have to pretend all of this is a waste of money because we obviously need a munitions factory populated with robots that are throwing i beams around the warehouse

This is insane. A mental health crisis aboard a US air craft carrier due to prolonged (record breaking) deployment and neglect. MULTIPLE thwarted sliced attempts, including sailors trying to jump out to sea. This man’s capacity to destroy everything, even a whole country, is terrifying.

i've been covering national security for decades, on and off. i've never heard of anything like this. www.theguardian.com/us-news/2026...

I work in Title IX at a state university and I experienced this as well. Just immediate capitulation work obviously illegal executive orders. It was infuriating. Is infuriating.

"rushed to the White House to surrender" "bent without a fight" This overview of what happened at Paul Weiss could be any number of law firms, but also universities, corporations- including media outlets, and also Republican lawmakers. Shameful.

You might get sick of hearing this but if he keeps doing it I'm gonna keep saying it: this is an unconstitutional impoundment, violating both Congress' Article I spending authority and the 1974 Impoundment Control act, and immediately impeachable.

My suggestion has never been “tip toe around everything lest we ruffle the feathers of anti-vaccine propagandists (etc).” It’s “Clearly identify your *actual goal* and communicate with a psychologically plausible eye toward reaching that goal.”

Really important thread to keep in mind if you ever hope to legitimately change minds. It’s not fair but it’s the psychological reality of the situation.

Daniel Loxton 🇨🇦@danielloxton.bsky.social

“Correcting a false belief is not like correcting a math error. It requires something closer to what clinicians call grief work. The person must let go of a version of reality that has been sustaining them…” That’s one doozy of an asymmetry! “Make stuff up” vs basically “extended complex therapy”?

NEW: President Trump makes four false claims in a 43-word post about Tina Peters. Peters is 70 (not 73), does not have cancer, was sentenced by a judge in Mesa County (not the Governor), and did not expose fraud in the 2020 presidential election.

If I’m understanding this correctly, X is owned by a white nationalist who pays poor people of color in developing countries to pretend to be working class white Americans to scare other white Americans into being afraid poor people of color from developing countries are going to ruin America?

I'm not able to independently verify the authenticity of this, but given everything that is happening, it seems very reasonable to believe it. Everyone should read this and share it. Media should be investigating it. Dems should be talking about it and doing everything possible to interfere with it.

Trump is openly violating the law on a vast and unprecedented scale and everyone is acting like it's normal. NPR had a long story about finding a rare shrew. NYT said he was disregarding "legal niceties." This is an attack on the Constitution as profound as the attempt to overturn the 2020 election.

1) This is egregious and immoral. 2) It's also more low-hanging fruit for Dems if Schumer and Jeffries would stop telling their members to let this stuff slide. The Trump admin is *again* trying to get people killed in a pandemic for no reason beyond "too-online conservative brain rot."

I think it would better, instead of adopting the MAGA framing, to call out specifically what they are saying. They are not blaming “DEI.” They are blaming Blacks, other minorities, women, and people with disabilities. It’s called scapegoating.

Contrary to common beliefs, we find that misinformation isn’t universal or a general condition of our media ecosystem. Instead, it's specifically associated with radical-right populist parties that spread misinformation as a political strategy. 5/
