Now, just think of the personal data GM could share, sell, and use, when gathered from a car functioning in the capacity described in the article. 😳 bsky.app/profile/mari...

Srsly, I would 𝙇𝙊𝙑𝙀 to own an EV. I just need it not to be loaded with spyware and "driver assistive" tech. Europeans are covered by the GDPR. So, they have a reasonable expectation of privacy in their vehicle-collected data. It is literally the Wild Wild West of data sharing in the US. ✌🏼

I just want a car from a manufacturer that doesn’t collect and sell my location data and doesn’t force me to pay for a subscription service to use the expensive machine I payed to own

And it comes with a yearly subscription price so it's not enough that you spend tens of thousands of dollars to buy the car, you then have to spend several hundred dollars per year on service subscriptions if you want to use the car.

I want my car to get me from point A to point B safely and at a low cost. This is already not ideal and a backup to 1) live in a walkable environment and 2) have consistent reliable public transportation

Me: You should stop before we go over that cliff. AI: The cliff now has the Greta Thundberg Bridge build in 1977 and funded by Dolly Parton. Me: That can’t be true!! AI: You are right to push back. The bridge was funded by the Lincoln Administration in 1936. Proceeding. Me: Aaaahhhh!!! 🚗⛰️💥
