I wouldn't say that "anything". There is a ton of stuff that can be done without requiring any (external) NIFs.

I don't understand this issue. 0.5 seconds or whatever is really negligible for me, personally. I wouldn't consider that a delay. Depends on the use case maybe 🤔

For that you can just use something as simple as Pascal. Elixir/Erlang/OTP is not for writing software, it's for writing software systems.

It’s been available for the better part of a year, but yes a new terminal lib was talked about. Built on top of new-ish :prim_tty which is part of OTP26. It was a great talk, would recommend watching the recording when available github.com/Gazler/termite

I'd still argue that for number crunching, LLM training/inference and Jupyter/Marimo Notebook style development other languages/platforms are better suited. Unless something has drastically changed in BEAM/Elixir land that I am not aware of.

Have you looked at Livebook and Nx? You may still be right. But those are both intended to cover that usage.

As someone who was starting from scratch, I wasn't really able to put together an ML model that was remotely accurate in Elixir, while I was able to do so in Python. This is coming from knowing nothing about machine learning models. It might be easier if you already know the fundamentals?

have never came across a game written in elixir. something new to try.
