I also wanted to pull out a special part of the piece: fuck Jensen Huang. By forcing customers to take early delivery of GPUs to boost quarterly revenues, he artificially inflated the price of RAM and every consumer electronic. What he and his hyperscale paypigs have done is morally reprehensible.

Free newsletter: In July, Apollo Economist Torsten Slok said that "AI better work out, or we have a problem." Facing ever-growing high-interest debt, negative-EBITDA AI labs and $200bn+ in warehoused GPUs, that's exactly what the AI industry has. www.wheresyoured.at/ai-had-bette...

“Sore winner”? SMDH.

A whole nation-state, with a huge economy, governed by devolved Temu version of the Roy family from _Succession_. With this much chaos, things could still improve tho. “but there's all this what is it roots / roots roots roots and here's the water / again very queer but I'll go on looking”

Trump is announcing a $2.9 billion contract with Anduril Industries, a defense contractor backed by Don Jr's investment firm.

ABC: “rescind? Wrong verb. Right one is “impound.” And it’s both unconstitutional and illegal. The right verb, and the illegality, need to be in the lede, or we have to assume ABC is either complicit or incompetent. (Or both.)

Antivax loons irritate me, but even I don’t want to see them FAFO via dying in agony after foaming at the mouth, screaming gibberish, ejaculating through a flaccid penis, etc. etc.

"The zoo was in Durham County on Aug. 16 and Aug. 23 for separate private events. The zoo also made stops in Statesville, Lexington, Watauga County, Burke County and Mocksville between July 28 and Aug. 27. In Lexington, the zoo was part of a back-to-school bash." RABID! GOATS! AT! SCHOOL!

It’s almost as if explicit and clearly-enforced regulations exist for a reason, are written in blood, and are the main difference between functioning societies and failed “shitholes.”

Food companies wanted deregulation. Now there are dozens of recalls across the country. Mining companies wanted deregulation. Now the black lung rate is at a 45-year high. Financial companies wanted deregulation. Now financial losses to fraud are the highest on record. Noticing a pattern?

King Leupold would approve of this hire. University of Ghent earning a “certain reputation” here.

Hari Kunzru@harikunzru.bsky.social

Cofnas may regret drawing this much attention to himself. He was very lucky to find shelter for his views (you know the ones) in Ghent and there may have been some procedural irregularities in his hiring www.brusselstimes.com/2007046/ghen...

This is going to speedrun the destruction of the US economy.

Being too skeevy for Capital One is like being too dead for a vulture to eat. Like being too dishonest to be elected in Texas. Like ….

Being Liberal ®🗽🏳️‍🌈@beingliberal.bsky.social

The disclosure marks the first time a bank has formally tied money-laundering concerns to Donald Trump’s family business. Capital One is seeking to dismiss the case by casting doubt on claims of illegally debanking – or denying services on religious or political grounds – the Trump Organization.

It seems indisputable that tragic gear-gobbling junkie failson roadkill-eating acidhead burnouts make the best public health leaders.

If Krusader Kegsbreath were _trying_ to wreck the US military, what would he do differently?

Flu spreads efficiently especially in close quarters like military troop lodging facilities. If you are in the military you are required to get several vaccines because of how devastating outbreaks can be to troops and also because they are more likely be targeted by agents of biological warfare.

You are up to date.
