It's the will of Cthulhu/Apsu. He wants to live in flesh which cannot age. Immortality is the only thing he really wants. He hates falling into and out of the Void. Not that any of you have any idea what any deity ever wants, or care at all, but that's the Truth of it. Inevitable. It's already woven

People here are being really shitty, including at fellow journalists who've been traumatized, and you will regret those posts. Or should. Also this does not help your political cause, whatever that might be.

Last year our city’s budget for the LAPD was $1,980,000,000.00. I know how we can immediately knock that down to $1,979,550,000.00. It’s time Los Angeles found a new police chief.

In the USA even the very wealthy old men must perform as gladiators until death in inhospitable outposts like Indianapolis in order to provide their children with medical care.

Although Philip Rivers made a return to pursue individual achievements, he also did something very useful for his big family in the process: He extended his NFL-sponsored health insurance.

I am hearing that on his deathbed Dick Cheney received the light of Islam and unhesitatingly recited the Shahada. Even now she looks down on the Ummah from the gardens of Jannah. Truly there is no god but Allah, and Mohammad is his prophet!

I find statements like “what if everybody chose to be nice” or “it’s all because of greed!” thoroughly unmoving and naïve. Blaming our problems on the way individuals are (unlikely to change) rather than how society’s arranged (which we collectively have complete control over) is all sound and fury.

nice argument. however i have already portrayed myself as the unbothered bisexual dinosaur and you as the incontinent ICE agent

Here's a photo of my friend and colleague, Jorge Bautista, getting shot in the face with a flashbang grenade. The ICE Agent is so afraid of Jorge (who was posing no threat) that he has wet himself. Please share this photo. Everyone needs to know what cowards ICE agents are.

Absolutely no disrespect meant to this poster — they’re broadly right — but that can’t be the entirety of the plan. No Kings and other “family friendly” protests have a place; they’re an entry point into political action for people who have never been out in the street.

I’m not shitting on the frog suit comrade or anybody for trying to have fun in the face of unimaginable horror; I wouldn’t want any part in a revolution that had no room for fun and jokes.

fun, family-friendly protests are an entry point to that, if it gets more people out into the streets. But if they’re also there ONLY to goof around and have a fun and safe time, and if we as a movement declare that that’s the only acceptable form of protest on our side, nothing’s going to change.

The administration and its foot soldiers have no humanity. No matter how right we are, how righteous our cause or unmoving our commitment to nonviolence is, they’re never going to have a change of heart.

My largely politically-disconnected mom marches in No Kings protests, and I’m proud of her for that. But there’s got to be either a pipeline for moving a percent of these protesters into direct action, or parallel organizing with a diversity of tactics happening. There’s no optics war to be won.

Like Democrats going after the mythical “undecided voter,” there’s no one left who hasn’t chosen sides. Everyone has had plenty of time to see the atrocities being committed and decide if they’re with it or against it. The fight now is against fear and apathy and hopelessness - and yes,
