202 Unique

Completely unacceptable behavior last night. When you attack volunteers running supporters groups you damage the entire scene for everyone.

Update: it's raining

Prideraiser is finally here! This year, we have chosen to raise funds for @smyal.bsky.social because SMYAL supports and empowers LGBTQ+ youth. Their programs are designed to provide queer and trans youth with safe spaces to express themselves, develop critical skills, and build community in the DMV.

Look for our volunteers if you need a bathroom buddy at today’s game, and reach out to security or our capo Meredith in 137 if you’re experiencing issues!

If you’re not able to attend either game or are out of state and want to support us, you can purchase supplies from our wishlist to guarantee the students and teachers of Sousa Middle School receive the supplies they need to start the school year!

Welcome to the Stories Behind the Squad! The Spirit Squadron is almost as old as the Washington Spirit, and we have *seen some things.*

Currently sitting at 119/203 backpacks! If you’re coming to the game this weekend, we’ll still be collecting backpacks along with other supplies.

Hi Spirit fam - one of our own has been diagnosed with a rare form of leukemia. If you are able, please donate to his go fund me to support him and his partner. gofund.me/e968fa317

A reminder to donate if you're able. Back to School drive is happening the next 2 home games. Thank you @spiritsquadron.bsky.social @roseroomco.bsky.social @202unique.bsky.social @washingtonspirit.com & DC SCORES!

Spirit family! For the start of the school year and we’re partnering with DC Scores, Sousa Middle School and our other SG’s for our first annual School Supply Drive! Bring supplies over the next two home guys to help support our local students. @roseroomco.bsky.social @spiritsquadron.bsky.social

If we're not all free Then none of us are free Happy Juneteenth nmaahc.si.edu/explore/stor...

For example, the USMNT playing today with one of their Blackest teams in history should be not just noticed but celebrated and shouted from the rooftops today. And if you don't know why that should be, the best thing you can do is look into why the path a Black player takes might be different.

Today is Juneteenth in the US Read about it here: tinyurl.com/3jbvm9tt Remember that Black history and culture built the US, and there's nothing better you can do for that than celebrating it in the face of those who want to erase it Nobody can erase Black history, but compliance out of fear can

Players on a winless Washington Spirit found a plastic coyote on a training field before an away game. They turned it into a fun little gag. Then they won. Now, they have an absurd reminder of how important it is to have fun. Meet Jose the Coyote. im-curious-roey.beehiiv.com/p/washington...

This Trans Day of Visibility, we’re celebrating Kumi Yokoyama, a champion and history-maker in more ways than one. Thank you, Kumi, for your time with the Spirit and for living your truth! Trans people belong everywhere, on and off the pitch.

With other teams finding a way to celebrate the Black community, nothing is not a choice, @washingtonspirit.com.
