I will fight AI infinitely, but I'm sick of the amount of discussions I'm having about it on a regular basis. Having to constantly tell people the reasons AI is bad and it's not just for fun... it's exhausting. ANYWAY, what fun human-made projects are you guys working on? Anything's better than AI!

I still find the original Tomb Raider creepy overall, but you were missing out if you never saw the last few levels:

Fiona Belli and Hewie from Haunting Ground. What an interesting and weird game! Hewie is indeed a good boy. Slowly catching up on my #sixfanarts

Hire Viki, she's super talented and lovely!

Hey #PortfolioDay! I'm a tech artist searching for some freelance work ⚔️ I was tech artist on Knights in Tight Spaces, and made some sick VFX ✨ I've worked on AR projects with Aardman and The National Gallery, among others 🎨 I love making weird procedural art and shaders 🔗 viki-scull.github.io

Oh yeah! It's European Dreamcast day! I remember getting mine on the midnight launch and a drunk guy walking past shouting "Getcha Dreeeaaaamcaaaast". It was weird.

27 years ago the Dreamcast launched in Europe/PAL regions! That means it's a perfect time to listen back to our audio retrospective on the highs & lows of the launch, covering as many countries as we could-including the disastrous launch in Australia. 👉 www.buzzsprout.com/42610/episod...

I have some space opening up in my schedule for game development consulting, and/or writing funny words. If your project could do with someone who knows what they're talking about sticking their oar in, or good dialogue drop me a line. I'm good at this sort of thing: dan at size five games dot com

I finally did my picture of Janet from Virtua Cop 2, as part of the #sixfanarts callout I did ages ago. It took a while to find a cool pose for her, but then I was inspired by the VC2 intro!

I'm pleased to announce Launchpad — my creator discovery, organic campaigns and key distribution tools – for indie games! 🚀 This has been in development for ~2 years with a cohort of early access customers across the industry. Here's how it helps your #indiegamemarketing:

The video advertising Unity's ew AI-driven autocomplete game maker has 'Mari' who has a game idea they "always wanted to make" and that idea is "Space Corridor" and it looks like this, and that's the strongest argument I can think of for keeping game dev out of the pro-AI crowd's hands.

Job post: New! Sega community post! Oh cool, that could be a fun job! Job reality: You have to moderate the Sonic Discord Server

ICYMI: SEGA took an intense crash course in community management last night, as it launched an official Sonic the Hedgehog Discord server that descended into chaos, forcing a shutdown in just a few hours of operation. #SonicNews www.sonicstadium.org/articles/son...

I have a plaster on the end of my finger and it feels like a really simple hacking tool. Suddenly I can't use my phone, my tablet, even my mouse is touch sensitive.

These are Cirrocumulus clouds. They’re very pretty. But I’m sorry cirrocumulus clouds, I will never draw you. We all want the poster-boy cumulus clouds.

Bitmap Book's Fatal Fury Ultimate History is lovely, as expected. I love seeing the behind-the-scenes sketches. And check out the barcode!

I’ve always wondered… When the lift goes out of view, does it rotate to match the curve, or stay upright? Asking the important questions.

Are people that dumb? Are they really falling for this? "We're the only ones who can save you from our terrible creation, so please keep sending us money"

I think "CNT" for Closed Network Test is a brilliant acronym and whoever decided that was good deserves a raise. Anyway, the Crazy Taxi CNT was not great. I won't be buying it.

The real question is: why aren’t we all making Saturn games now? There’s apparently no money in games anyway, so might as well have some fun ;)

SEGA SATURN, SHIRO!@segasaturnshiro.bsky.social

Developer, @pvthinge.bsky.social (creator of the action-platformer, Scarf of Embers on Steam), has been fast at work on a 3D Saturn software development tool built on top of Johannes Fetz' Jo Engine, to make the Saturn development process both fun and easy! www.segasaturnshiro.com/2026/09/11/f...

I've seen so many "X game with DLSS5 enabled" videos and I'm always surprised at how excited people are for it?! It genuinely looks awful on every example, it feels like proper gas lighting. Like, can't they see the AI muddy faces? Inconsistencies? Destroying the art direction? Whinge over.

Now don't get me wrong I love me some Kirby, but let's not lie the best game is still the SNES game. (The golf game Kirby's Dream Course, obviously)

Look at how REAL they look! …Comparatively. It was a great way to show the tech progression. Poor wireframe dude.

I did work experience at Future Publishing at a Nintendo magazine and they had an early copy of Perfect Dark. It wasn’t even in a case like this, it was pure naked PCB goodness poking out the N64 held together with rubber bands. Every night we stayed after work to play deathmatches… good times!

Will Perkins@williamhperkins.bsky.social

Mods are asleep, post your long N64 cartridges!

This same account posted the original SNES release of the same artwork. Great to compare! But these GBA versions have a certain quality to them, they're really nice.

The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past (Game Boy Advance) story artwork.

Had a play of this at lunch. It's a notable improvement over the original demo, that's for sure. ...But I'd still rather play the original. Very difficult not to compare this with the Starfox 2026 remake in terms of quality.

The current biggest use of disclosed AI on Steam is 2D images (12% of all releases, 63% of all AI disclosures) among titles released since Jan '24 (when disclosure started). Code remains listed on a number of games, despite Valve dropping the requirement. More data: weloveit.io/developers/a...

A picture of Zool. Anyone remember Zool? Did anyone actually like Zool? I thought I did until I played it again. Cool character, great product placement(?!), awful game.
