Time-travelling uberscientist and last living human. Rather weird. Rumoured indie game developer. Ace Gender-agnostic. He/Him probably, but whatever.

Google illegally cleared an estimated 250,000 trees across 330 hectares of forest in Muhos, northern Finland, to prepare for a new AI data center before completing mandatory environmental impact assessments And another 150,000 trees felled at Otanmäki www.theguardian.com/environment/...

Heating has been tinkered, and most of the building is a nice toasty 70F, except for the studio which is at 16C, but it's normal to be chilly in here. Sorry for the mixed units, I'm Canadian but not all my thermometers are.

The heating system works, in the sense that is is able to produce heat. It's more of a volume and scheduling problem. The heat is not delivered in the quantity nor with the timing that we desire.

Today, there was a bee shoving its face into my marigolds. So I just watched it for a while. 5 stars. Would do again. No notes.

Basement crickets are the worst. They have no self preservation instincts. You're just going around innocently doing basement things and CRUNCH. Great. Now I have cricket juice to clean up.

Project Zomboid rant: First Aid is a useless skill. If you have a high First Aid skill, it means you're getting injured a lot, and if you're getting injured, you will eventually zombify, guaranteed. Just learn to not get hurt. GOOD players have 0 skill in First Aid.

I have 3 penholders and 3 mason jars being used as penholders. This seems like a suboptimal working setup wrt penholders.

This shit is why you can't separate continuing to financially support the Harry Potter IP (whether by buying the games, merch, watching the new TV show when its out) from the consequences of what JK Rowling does with that money She's become so stiflingly powerful that even private docs arent safe

Dozens of gas-burning power plants are being built across the country, solely to power data centers. These plants could emit as much planet-warming pollution as half of all passenger vehicles in the entire country in a single YEAR. We need a data center moratorium — now.

The Canadian Government has a big AI boner right now, but you can still answer the survey with as much spite as you can muster.

Canadian arts and culture folks: the federal government has launched a (methodologically flawed) survey on "the Cultural Sector's readiness for Artificial Intelligence". If you're ready to resist or refuse genAI, here's your chance to let them know. pch.research-recherche.ca/f/s.aspx?lan...

This one's a bit sloppy, but it represents an improvement - starting to express a little upward tilt instead of just a dude with his ears too low.

I love how Windows Fax & Scan preserves every scan setting between pages, EXCEPT the file type. Because of course, why would you want anything but JPG?

I'm think what I'm consistently getting wrong with the tilted up angle is foreshortening of facial features. I don't know if I want to keep practicing until I can understand the exact problem.

"Does the President sleep in the same room as the First Lady?" No, clearly she does not sleep in the Oval Office! Use your eyes!

My art teacher told me, "always finish, even if you think it's no good", and I've repeated that advice my whole life. I really just don't WANT to finish this, though. Do you really have to finish, if it's the last project you'll ever do?

It's pretty much in the nature of generative AI that any use of it nudges you away from your own ideas, voice, style, and mark-making towards the statistical center of existing work.

This lightboard is strong enough that sketches on the bond sheets show up just fine through the ~200gsm final pages. I am pleased!

I knew this drawing book would have a section on my old Nemesis, and I have now arrived at that section: <cue villain theme> --- Foreshortening ---

I think I'm done with game dev. You can't do it alone, and I don't have a team, so it's pretty cut and dry. Humans likely won't be allowed to create for much longer anyway. It was fun, I guess.

I've never had an ink brush before.. I mean, I have, but not this kind with the ink inside it, like. This is awesome!
