“The law, in its majestic equality, forbids rich and poor alike to sleep under bridges, to beg in the streets, and to steal their bread,” —Anatole France (1844-1924) As a kid, I didn’t understand this bon mot—as an adult, it gets saltier every year…

I'm calling bullshit on the media narrative that Trump is "pivoting" and "deescalating" on his ICE raids. The threshold is this: As long as the military occupations and the treatment of US cities as enemy territory continue, there's no pivot. ICE out. 1/ (New piece) newrepublic.com/article/2057...

newrepublic.comDonald Trump Is FrightenedTrump wants to appear eager to minimize out-of-control clashes between government militias and protesters. But he doesn’t want to stop the things causing those clashes in the first place.

Trump wanted a 51st state for so long he decided to invade a country to get his wish.

CNN: Are you okay with the US running Venezuela when there are a lot of problems that Americans are complaining about here? Trump says he's going to spend billions of dollars in Venezuela REP. CARLOS GIMENEZ: Yeah, but Venezuela has billions of dollars of resources

You know what? I'm willing to empirically test this as many times as it takes to reach statistical certainty about any conclusions we reach

Michael C. Rockefeller got shipwrecked in 1963, washed up on an island, and was promptly eaten by cannibals.

Now they are defending war criminals! Lying comes way too easy to them.

BERMAN: Did you see any evidence of them trying to use a radio in the video you saw? TOM COTTON: Well I saw lots of evidence of them standing on the boat that had been capsized BERMAN: That wasn't my question. Did you see any evidence? COTTON: No, I didn't

Some people are hoping that sanity will prevail and that Trump will be removed or at least neutered. I'm more pragmatic. I'm hoping he takes a permanent vacation next to his ex-wife.

If true that it's necessary - that's a shame. Politicians in Québec almost never mention gods. It's irrelevant to the task we elect them to perform. I don't see in what world that's a good thing.

The consensus is clear. He's really that stupid. We're still waiting on the prognostic of people who voted for him but so far, it's not looking great.

Trump: "We were losing a trillion dollars a year. Now we're not losing anything, you know? That's the way I look at it. We were losing with China on trade a trillion dollars a year."

Jack Daniel's owner says that removing his products from shelves is worse than tariffs. Yes. Yes. It is. But guess what? Tariffs are worse than no tariffs. This is like a guy punching you in the stomach and complaining that you punch him in the face.

I blame Putin of course, but also Trump, Musk and the GOP that allow this. Shame on you.
