It turns out that I am a *terrible* Ghosts fan! Somehow I missed Havers revealing The Captain's name in season 5. Three times! I think I need to give back my Superfan badge back. I mean, it was just an imaginary badge I'd given myself but still. Cc @benwillbond.bsky.social

Stop what you're doing and go and book tickets for Ghosts. You will not regret it. Just gloriously stupid and wonderful. No spoilers but: Scotch eggs Perfect names of characters Bicycles

The Boy is so utterly enthralled by Ghosts he's now determined to get over his stage fright so he can become an actor. He wants to be able to bring that level of joy to people. 🥹

An Irish writer reached out to me recently about her book and would I like to quote on it. Unfortunately I read the message when I was on the road and now can't remmeber a) her name b) the name of the book c) which socials it was on. If that was you, please shout! If it wasn't, please share?

I'm going to have to be sensible and accept that I'm not going to have the energy to make a set of comfy clothes for my hysterectomy recovery. I currently have one nightdress and everything else is tight around the waist. Going to brave Vinted. 😬

How am I expected to stay awake when I'm in a warm room with three sleeping pets, one of which is softly snoring while it's raining outside?

One of the best professional experiences I've had was working at the @ptes-org.bsky.social dormouse conference. I've been to so many conferences from different sectors and the dormouse conference was easily full of the loveliest people. 😍

Last chance to book your ticket to The People's Trust for Endangered Species National Dormouse Conference 2026! 🎟️ ptes.org/event/national-dormouse-conference-14th-november-2026 📅 Saturday 14th November 📍 Reading University

How do I know I have a really naff taste in music? I genuinely love bouncing about to Lego Ninjago Weekend Whip. Which is a good thing as it's played on at least a daily basis in this house. 😆

Trying to explain to this idiot that: A) I do not have the power to turn the weather off. B) Rough collies were bred to herd sheep in the wilds of Scotland.

If anyone in Belfast was wondering what the screaming sound was 10 minutes ago it was my son watching Traitors and not appreciating the cliffhanger.

Are the traitors really good this season or are the faithful just shockingly bad? I mean, obviously, James Blunt is quite astoundingly bad but literally no one is suspicious of any of the traitors. 😆

Three years ago, my dad said that all fish are the same shape. Out of spite, I decided to draw all 478 families of bony fish listed in Nelson 2016. There's still some stuff I need to edit and some fish I want to redraw but, after 985 days, I finished my big dumb fish project last night.

Snow leopards are possibly the derpiest of the leopards. 😍

We're delighted to announce this #InternationalSnowLeopardDay that we're continuing our support of Purevjav Lkhagvajav our Conservation Partner from Snow Leopard Conservation Foundation (SCLF) in Mongolia🐾🎉

In other news Lego have teamed up with Daft Punk and this is all I'm going to hear about between now and when the set actually releases. I genuinely thought The Boy was going to hyperventilate and pass out when he heard about this. 😆

Here we go..

Honestly? Why is everything like banging your head off the wall? How have we created a society that cares so little about other people and everyone just shrugs and essentially says sucks to be you? Yes, I'm trying to get some basic support for The Boy. How did you guess?

The problem with being a small business is the only way really to advertise that is in any way cost effective is Facebook adverts. It makes me sick up in my mouth though.

Someone in the HE department at The Boy's school seems to think this is bruschetta. I think you'll find this is 1980's French bread pizza. Flavoured with large chunks of raw green garlic. Yum. 🤢

She's so stupidly cute when she's not being an utter dickhead. 😻

Having my feet warmed by the small fuzzy beast. Pet ownership paying off this afternoon.

I don't have a religious bone in my body but a client has just told me she's going to light a candle in chapel tomorrow for me and I swear I nearly had a wee cry. 🥹

The sheer level of incompetence at the Northern Ireland Driver & Vehicle Agency is quite breathtaking. 15 minutes on the phone and literally the only outcome was the person was going to send a message to someone to ask for them to phone me. 15 minutes to take a fucking message down!?!?

I spent over £10 to get my driving licence with my very important documents sent back to me. The fucking morons at the DVLA didn't seal the envelope so posted me back an empty envelope. And yes, I have zero idea where my documents are.

I've always been on the fence about a united Ireland because of the difficulties of merging different admin systems. I now realise that there's no need to worry as it turns out we have no functional admin systems.

Someone at The Boy's school keeps using AI to make posters and the only thing that cheers me up about it is how much The Boy rips the piss out of them.

Right, anyone any ideas of suitable funeral poems? Dad was a grumpy, trenchant old socialist, born working class but went to uni as a mature student and became a teacher. Liked crap puns, songwriting and arguing. Messy. Clever. Did I mention grumpy?

Some people post humble brag photos of their kids in sporting teams, some are them winning awards, some are them playing music. Me? It's the once or twice a year he decides he wants to do some sewing. 😍🪡🧵

Literally everything someone needs to steal my identity. Missing in the wind. How dumb-foundingly stupid do you have to be to not quadruple check the envelope is sealed. It was literally one of those tear the strip and stick envelopes. The envelope still has the tear away strip.

How you know Musk is at his core extremely fucked up... With the amount of money he has he could fund enough research to cure cancer.

Chatting about toilets in a pub in Belfast and I mentioned the mild panic men have when they walk into the unisex toilets in the Woodworkers pub. It then occurred to us all that if we always used the term unisex rather than gender neutral the terfs might not realise.

question for the audience: if you were ultra rich (let’s say $25M), what completely frivolous thing are you buying?

Ok. What do you get someone for their 80th birthday when they say they don't want a fuss being made of their birthday but their wife died a couple of months ago and you want to get them something so they know you're thinking of them.

This 100% does not apply to me.

QUESTION OF THE DAY: This sounds like a joke question, but it isn’t. If it doesn’t apply to you, fine. But it’s a serious question with different levels of meaning. And I am genuinely curious. When did you first realize you were weird?

I'm very aware of not being one of those gushing parents who waxes lyrical at how their life is so much better with a kid to childless friends. I discovered this weekend I might have swung a bit too far the other way. For all avoidance of doubt, *for me* being a mum is the best thing ever.

You know what I found so soothing about the Knit & Stitch show? Just the vast array of creativity and people doing stuff with their hands. From actual humans. And next to no AI advertising.
